In verses 11-14 of Colossians chapter 2, the apostle Paul draws our attention to the fact of being in Christ. In verses 9 through 13 he states that the believer is in Christ, in Him or with Him some 6 times. Our relationship and union with Christ is our position in Christ.

Dr. Mitchell brings out our separation to Christ in verse 11. Even when we were dead in our sins God made us alive together with Christ, having forgiven us all our trespasses…all of them. God nailed the written document of all our sins which were against us, he nailed it to the cross no more to be remembered. What a salvation. What grace this is for you and me where ever we are.

Dr. Mitchell will speak of Jesus as the victorious one. Jesus is risen from the dead. John records of Mary Magdalene alone, while the other gospels record the presence of other women. John also, goes into detail about Peter and John himself racing to see the empty tomb. John saw and believed, but as yet they did not understand the Scripture about Jesus' resurrection. They then went back home.

Dr. Mitchell goes on to present the doctrinal importance of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus.

He emphasizes that this resurrection is physical not merely spiritual. Jesus appeared to Mary Magdalene and with His familiar voice called her by name, and she recognized His voice. Do you remember how Jesus says, My sheep hear my voice in John 10?

Turn with us to John 20 verse 1 with our teacher, Dr. Mitchell as he explores the resurrection of the savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.

The times of the Gentiles will be the focus of our study. This is found in Luke 21:24 where Luke writes that the Jerusalem shall be trodden down by the gentiles till the times of the gentiles are fulfilled. This is a definite revealed time period.

Dr. Mitchell takes us back to the start when Babylon, ruled by Nebuchadnezer the king of that gentile nation, began to rule over the nation of Israel. This is found in the Book of Daniel.

But when the Lord Jesus comes in power and great Glory, returning to the earth as King of Kings and Lord of Lords, He judges the nations of the earth, then the times of the gentiles will come to an end.

Let’s turn to Luke 21:24 where Dr. Mitchell describes the times of the gentiles. Your listening to the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast.

Today looks at Jesus on the cross speaking with Mary, His mother and the beloved disciple.

Here Jesus takes care of His own.

Not only this, but Dr. Mitchell describes here how every Scripture prophetically given about Jesus, He literally fulfills.

The apostle John is also an eyewitness of Jesus fulfillment of Scripture as he says in verses 35 and 36.

Now, Jesus' words in verse 30 "It is finished" meaning "paid in full", comprises the complete fulfillment of all that was literally written for Him at His first coming, especially here with His death on the cross. So, how much more when He comes again, for His own -- literally?

Turn with us in your Bible to John 19 verse 25 with Dr. Mitchell.

Dr. Mitchell continues in Colossians 2:9-10 concerning the remedy for false philosophies and reasonings of men who would turn one away from the person and work of Christ.

Dr. Mitchell brings out that the Incarnate Son of God, God manifest in the flesh is the fullness of Deity in bodily form. Christ is the antidote to all human philosophies and reasonings.

He states whoever desires to add to Christ, desires more than God.

Jesus Himself, on the cross said,

'It is finished', --- paid in full.

There is no one else and no more that needs to be done about sin. As the hymn says, "Jesus Paid it all".

Believer in Christ, we are complete, filled full in Him with all His righteousness before God the Father.

Here is Dr. Mitchell, Colossians 2:9-10.

Dr. Mitchell brings out the warnings the Apostle Paul wrote in verse 4.

Beware of enticing words leading to a delusion with reference to the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ. For in him dwells all the fullness of the God-head bodily. The Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ is being assaulted in these days.

So remember Jesus' own words in John 8:24 where He states: "..Unless you believe that I AM, you shall die in your sins." Do you hear what Jesus says about who He Himself is? It's the difference between life and death.

So it is said in Col 2:8, Be discerning about what teaching is of Christ and what is not… being based on man and human philosophy and human tradition and not after Christ.

Here is Dr. Mitchell, Col.2:4.

Our study in Colossians resumes in chapter 2 verse 3 with Dr. Mitchell, who taught the Word of God for over 60 years.

He takes up the truth of the mystery of God, Christ Himself in whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Each one who is trusting in the savior is also hidden in God's treasure box. As Dr. Mitchell says, Christ is God's treasure box, and God has hidden you where He has hidden His treasures - In Christ.

In verses 5 & 6, we behold Paul's joy of the orderly conduct and steadfast faith and walk in Christ of these Colossian believers.

Here is Dr. Mitchell, Col.2:3.

Dear friends, thank you for being here with us. The Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast treasures you prayer on our behalf that the Word of God will continue encouraging all who listen.

Here in Colossians chapter 2 verses 2 and 3, Dr. Mitchell focuses our hearts on the mystery of God which is Christ Himself.

In Christ, God has hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. As Dr. Mitchell says, Christ is God's treasure box. On top of that, he points out that we who know Christ are hid in Christ.

The more we know of Christ, the more we know of God. So, let's keep in the Bible, God's Unchanging Word where we can learn more of the savior who can reveal God to hearts.

Dr. Mitchell reminds us that the book of Colossians was written by the Apostle Paul while in prison. Dr. Mitchell addresses how Paul had a great concern for other believers whom he had never seen. Do we pray for other Christians whom we have never seen?

Dr. Mitchell says, love never compromises the truth especially the truth with respect to the savior, found in Colossians 2.

Here is Dr. Mitchell to give us more detail, Col.2:1-2.

Here in this lesson on the nation of Israel as revealed in Biblical prophecy, Dr. Mitchell looks at the coming of the Lord in relationship to Israel. The Day of Lord is the biblical phrase used to indicate the time when Israel and the nations are judged by the Lord as revealed in Revelation chaters 6-19.

But in regard to the Lord’s dealing with Israel, they will be cleansed from the unbelieving Jews then those who trust in Christ, their Messiah, will be saved to enter the Millennium when Christ returns to the earth to save them.

But God’s grace is available to each and everyone who now trusts in Christ now. Jesus died for each one of us and our sins, and God raised Him from the dead as proof of our forgiveness from Him!
