Dr. Mitchell will be relating to us how the believer is a light in the world. This light is most evident when holding forth the Word of life. How do you share the Word of life?

Dr. Mitchell shares the meaning of the day of Christ found in verse 16. He also mentions the Day of the Lord and the Day of God. The day of Christ will be a day of commendation and praise from the Savior for each believer.

The Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast continues in the book of Philippians. We are in chapter 2. Dr. Mitchell will be starting in verse 12 with a brief review from our previous lesson.

Dr. Mitchell will be addressing the believer who may be dealing with their assurance of salvation. He makes the difference between the one who has a real living relationship with the savior and the one who merely has a veneer of salvation.

It is God who is at work in us both to will and to do for His good pleasure. In the outworking of this God given salvation, the Apostle Paul writes that we are to do all things without grumbling or disputing.

So no matter what our circumstance may be, let's be encouraged by Dr. Mitchell, Philippians chapter 2 verse 12.

Dr. Mitchell speaks of our savior, in His utter humiliation to the point of death. He gives us a short overview of verses 5 thru 11.

Dr. Mitchell explains the working out of one's salvation not the working for that salvation. By grace we are saved through faith and that by-grace-thru-faith salvation is the gift of God it is not the work of man.

Church and Rapture

Dr. Mitchell shares with us the example and mind of Christ, here on the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast. In Philippians chapter 2 verses 5 and 6, Christ is our pattern both in His humiliation and then in His exaltation.

But first of all, Dr. Mitchell speaks of Christ in His humiliation.

This refers to Christ Jesus, who existing in the form of God, emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant.

Dr. Mitchell, through the Scriptures, shows how the Lord existed with the other members of the Trinity before time began.

The apostle Paul says that Christ is still existing in the form of God even after having died and been raised from the dead and now exalted and seated at the right hand of God.

There is now a real man in heaven, Jesus Christ, the God-Man.

Let's join Dr. Mitchell, Phil. 2:5.

On the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast we now move into Philippians chapter 2. Philippians is the letter of Christian experience with the words "joy" or "rejoice" as the prominent keywords and that from a man who was in prison, the Apostle Paul. He writes to the believers in Philippi, a Roman colony, who also were now undergoing a similar persecution for their faith in the gospel.

Dr. Mitchell states that these first 5 verses in Philippians in chapter 2 are an exhortation to unity and love leading one to an attitude of humility.

This humility exemplifies the mind of Christ.

Let's hear of our savior, in Philippians chapter 2 with our teacher Dr. Mitchell.

We pick up where we left off in Philippians chapter 1, beginning at verse 24.

In verses 27 thru 30 the Apostle Paul exhorts these believers to live worthy of the Gospel of Christ. He writes that it was graced to us not only to believe in Christ, but also to suffer for His sake.

In verses 21 thru 23, Paul writes to these Philippians as He finds himself hard pressed to decide between two equally desirable options for his life at that time. He was not sure which would be the best.

However, he became convinced of the necessity that service to others was the better option even though to be with Christ would be better for him.
