AppRiver had long been regarded as the flagship organization for their Phenomenal Care, customer service that went well above and beyond in support of their partners and service offerings. After being acquired by Zix in 2019, then OpenText in 2021, I wasn't sure where that phenomenal care had gone. 

The AppRiver Partner Day, held December 1 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel, was a first step to reassure us that AppRiver and OpenText were still committed to helping partners grow. 

One perk for attending the event involved an instructor-led training to prepare for the Microsoft MS-900 Certification Exam focused on Microsoft 365 Fundamentals. Each attendee was also offered a voucher for when they were ready to sit for the exam .

Dan and I first chatted about DattoCon 22.  It was good to get back out to live conferences in full force this year.

We then talked about Kaseya One, the front-end platform featuring single sign on, integrated billing and unified support for all of your Kaseya products. This was designed to help alleviate vendor fatigue.  You no longer need to open a different portal for every product. Kaseya puts everything in one place. 

Kaseya also released a new product called Powered Services. This is essentially a "Done for You Social Media" program to assist with your MSP Marketing.  Speaking of Marketing, Dan brought up the idea of starting a podcast for your business for your local community, without selling. Invite other business leaders in your area as guests and talk about what's going on in your community. 

We finish the podcast with a look ahead into 2023. There will be a big push to expand the global partner program.  Let's not forget, there could be more acquisitions on the way.

Are you unsure whether your organization is, or has been, the victim of a cyber-attack? Bryan is the owner/operator of Infosec Cyber, which specializes in digital forensic and incident response investigations. 

The goal is to educate companies before a data breach or incident happens, but many times, Bryan and his team are brought in to find out what happened and pinpoint the root cause. 

What does this mean for IT providers like me? I need to do a better job of recording logs and "artifacts" to better help clients after the fact if / when something happens.

Aunia returns to the show to talk specifically about her digital marketing business. We quickly revisited her journey to becoming a female business owner, amidst her life full of disabilities that were not properly diagnosed until recently. 

The big takeaway from this show is hearing about Aunia's mindset that allowed her to grow into a successful business owner.  She lives the Japanese proverb: "Fall Down Seven Times, Get Up Eight"

Along with a better understanding of SEO, I learned what bounce rates and "alt tags" are.  We spoke at length about building your brand instead of a website.
