In the internet marketing world, a common question that comes up is, "If you're so good at X, why would you help others do it too?" The question implies that if you're knowledgable at something, you should only use that knowledge to do that thing yourself, but not help others do it. I think it's a fair question, and in this episode, we discuss it, and my thoughts on if you can do AND teach something.
Mindset is a huge part of business... and all business owners will experience "mindset barriers" at certain phases of their journey. These are thoughts or things we think we can't solve for one reason or another, but generally the answer is simpler than we think. I give an example in this episode of a client of ours who was facing a mindset barrier. We talked through it... and came out on the other end with a solution!
If you're anything like me, you might check your email too much. I found that while email provides a ton of value in ways, it also hurts my productivity tremendously. So I set out to eliminate that problem. In this episode, I share what I did and how you can do the same.
Sometimes we get caught in a bubble. We do things the way it's "always been done." But some of the biggest breakthroughs in your business may be from adapting strategies and insights from completely different industries. I share more about this concept in the episode, and even give you some examples.
I recently read a great quote by author James Clear. It's about the battle between ACTIONS and WORDS. It reminded me of something else I heard awhile back, and how it can help you be honest with yourself about your priorities.
I've done some Google Ads over the years, but I've primarily been a Facebook ads guy. Recently I dove more into the world of Google, then quickly realized I needed some help. Within 72 hours, I hired a company, got ads live, and was generating consultations! I'm excited about the reach of Google, and dive into details in this episode.
Most marketing campaigns are measured by a specific result -- leads, sales, or something else. But many other touch points go into turning someone into a customer. An "Invisible Marketing Campaign" can be a great way to connect with an audience, warm them up, and make them take action on one of your direct response campaigns. If this all sounds confusing, I explain the whole thing in this episode.
To do email marketing the right way, you've gotta get a few things right. You have to send value, build a relationship, and treat your list with respect. But you also need to generate revenue. One of the most effective ways to do that is with "call-outs." These are emails that speak to a specific segment of your audience. I dive into detail (with examples) in this episode.
When we want to accomplish something, the simplest path is going from Point A to Point B. Unfortunately, most of us don't do that. I'm currently reading the book "Straight Line Leadership" that discusses this concept in-depth. Awesome book, and great insights in this episode about why we find ourselves on this hamster wheel of inaction.
Every sales process has multiple steps. Very rarely will someone go through all the steps at once. As marketers and entrepreneurs, we tend to focus our attention on the small percentage that do. But by shifting our focus, and creating micro-commitments for those that don't, we open up big opportunity to increase our conversions. I detail an example in this episode.
