Undrafted Rookie

The second half of our NFL Draft Review, this one focussed on the NFC.

We're talking...

• New York Giants trading back in to the first round to acquire Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart
• Atlanta Falcons giving up a future first round pick to take Tennessee's James Pearce Jr.
• Detroit Lions having a typically questionable draft - but it's worked out alright for them in recent years so who are we to judge.

Our post- NFL Draft review is here. We've divided it into two halves (for our own sanity as much as anything) - so this week we're only discussing the AFC.

A couple of big storylines that we're talking about:

• Shedeur Sanders falls all the way to the fifth round(!) before getting taken by the Cleveland Browns
• Jacksonville Jaguars gives over some serious draft capital to trade up to draft unicorn prospect Travis Hunter
• Pittsburgh Steelers don't take a premium quarterback (sorry Will Howard) so all arrows point to Aaron Rodgers being the next signal caller in Pittsburgh.

The perfectly on-time and not at all late Mock Draft episode. Technically, this episode came out before the first round of the NFL Draft so it still counts.

We take it turns to make selections for what we are calling the Final Mock Draft (trademark pending) - because it comes out only 1 hour before the draft actually starts.

It is not at all scientific and is just based on vibes and whispers.

In it, we have Shedeur Sanders falling right the way down to the Pittsburgh Steelers at pick 21, and a total eight edge-rushers going in the first round.

The final episode before the NFL draft! We're talking about some key prospects that will no doubt be drafted, they are...

• Tyler Shough - experienced Louisville quarterback
• Emeka Egbuka - another star wide receiver out of the wide receiver factory that is Ohio State.
• Jihaad Campbell - elite versatile defender who can play linebacker and edge rusher out of Alabama Crimson Tide.
• Shemar Stewart - edge rusher out of Texas A&M with all the traits, but a lack of proven production.
• Armand Membou - Atheltic, but slightly short, offensive tackle out of Missouri.
• Josh Conerly Jr. - Great all-round offensive tackle out of number one ranked Oregon.

We're discussing some of the more intriguing prospects for the upcoming NFL Draft this week....

• Travis Hunter - A truly unique cornerback AND wide receiver who shone playing for Sanders' Colorado Buffaloes.
• Mason Graham - An elite defensive tackle who was a key part of the national title-winning Michigan Wolverines' side.
• Dillon Gabriel - A quarterback who is a 6-year veteran of the college game who recently led the Oregon Ducks to an unbeaten season.
• We also discuss versatile defensive back Jahdae Barron from Texas Longhorns; and intriguing prospects at edge rusher - Tennessee's James Pearce Jr. and Mykel Williams from the Georgia Bulldogs.

Someone forgot to record this week's episode at the first time of asking. It was me. So this is a drastically reduced, in both length and quality, version 2 of our episode that we had planned.

We are, extremely briefly, discussing... Colorado Buffaloes' signal caller, Shedeur Sanders; Alabama quarterback, Jalen Milroe. LSU's star offensive Tackle, Will Campbell; Michigan's elite corner back, Will Johnson; Georgia's excellent linebacker / edge rusher, Jalon Walker; and Missouri wide receiver, Luther Burden III.

The new NFL league year is officially here and there have been a lot of moving pieces to keep up to date with. Luckily for Paul, John has kept up to date with all the movers and shakers to shout at him over an hour of podcast recording. Strap in.

We're talking... The shock trade that saw Geno Smith go to Vegas, DK Metcalf going to join George Pickens and a quarterback TBC in Pittsburgh. We're also rattling through the long list of names that the San Francisco 49ers have lost - but don't worry they've brought in Mac Jones.

Final episode before the new league year officially begins next week so we're doing a little quiz. John wrote it, Paul hates it, usual shtick.

We also catch-up on some of this week's news including Deebo Samuel's trade to the Washington Commanders, and Matthew Stafford's decision to remain at the Los Angeles Rams for another year (or more).

Also Paul's flat might be haunted.
