  • Episode: 7 Three things to consider when it comes to dieting.
With it being the new year, I’m sure you have thought about, seen ads or even googled what diet you might start.
It’s gotta be confusing as all get out when it comes time to make a decision.
Let’s talk about three things to consider before you take action.
    1. Be REAL with yourself. Do some research on the diet and if it’s so strict that you’ll only be able to maintain for a few weeks, you’re waisting your time and money. Look for a diet that you can commit to for a lifetime.
    2. Do you relate to the coach or the program. You’ve got to have some similarities because when times get tough and you want to quit that will be one of the first reasons that you say you can’t do it. “Because they don’t have kids. Or they are a fitness model, so that’s why they can do this.” You need to be able to relate in some way so you can say to yourself, “okay, if they can then I can, too.”
    3. You need to SELL OUT. Whatever you decide to choose give it everything you have. If you’re doing a bunch of random stuff, quitting things to start new things, then your results are going to be random as hell. Then when you are selling out on that program, give it 6 months.
Hopefully considering these three things will help guide you in the right direction.
    Love you guys!

  • Episode: 6 Have your emotions been hit?
No one has better intentions for yourself than you do right now.
Do you have a list of everything you want to start implementing and you’re wanting to start it today, right now?
Shoot, I’m even catching myself throwing in all these extra things I want to do that I didn’t even do before.
It’s normal to feel this way when our routine has been thrown off and we are ready to get back at it.
Or when we have given ourself a window to binge eat and say I’m going to get my sh*t together come Monday.
Those intentions are great to have, but let’s pump the breaks and focus on simple things that we know we can do without a doubt that will lead us in the right direction.
You might have even noticed by now that you didn’t get half the stuff done that you wanted to.
Then what happens is you feel guilty and confidence gets low and you say to yourself “I’m a failure, I’ll just start again super fresh come The New Year.”
But you didn’t look at the simple things that you DID do that will still lead you in the right direction.
    So let’s start small.
    Start here.
This is an example of three simple things you can start today to lead you back in the right direction.
But on a scale of 1-10 this should be at least an 8, which is saying without a doubt you know you can do.
    1. Water. Drink half your body weight in ounces of water. If you already do that, then drink a gallon of water a day.
    2. Exercise. Move. Sweat.
    3. Eat quality food. Meat, vegetables, fruits and some starches like brown rice, sweet potatoes and gluten free bread and pastas.
    Start there and nothing more.
If you have a hard time doing that on a regular basis, don’t add to your list.
Stick with the basics, then once you got the basics you can add something else to your list that will keep moving you in the right direction.
Whew, that was a long post.
    Love you guys.

  • Episode:3 Rhen’s Birth Story.
Every birth has a story, I said I would share mine and here we are!
    WE DID IT!
    Healthy Mama, healthy baby.
I am so incredibly thankful for my team who put up with all my worrying and doubts during this pregnancy.
I would not have been able to do this without you guys.
Thank you to my life partner @coachmattdsg you are my rock and I think I love you more now than I ever have.
Thank you to @communitybirthmidwife I literally trust you with every being in my soul. I can’t write this without tears in my eyes, you have been there for all three of my babies births and I am super sad I don’t get to see you every week anymore. You are one of the most honest, hard core bitches I have ever met and I admire you! Seriously thank you for EVERYTHING! Love you girl!
Thank you to @devotiondoulaandyoga for pretty much dropping any plans you had on that Sunday to come over and help me. Thank you for taking me on so late in my pregnancy. You were that angel I needed to get me through Rhen’s birth and I for real am pretty positive it wouldn’t of been as pleasant without you there helping me through every contraction, making me eat, drink and helping me break my water. 😜
Thank you to my Moms who watched our other two nuggets during this process. Mom I know taking Aden and Leif for several days by yourself was not easy and I thank you so much for that! To my other Mom, thank you for staying up with Rhen the first couple nights so I could sleep.
I hope you enjoy Rhen’s story, there’s lots of pictures in the YouTube videos so if you can watch it I suggest you do!
