Nel 2023, il Programma di osservazione della Terra dell’Unione Europea 'Copernicus' ha registrato livelli eccezionalmente elevati delle temperature globali. Lo scorso anno è stato definito l’anno più caldo mai registrato.
Il calore e la siccità ma anche le precipitazioni concentrate ed anomale rappresentano un fattore di stress per l’ambiente e quindi anche per le coltivazioni. L’agricoltura è infatti estremamente sensibile alle condizioni meteorologiche e climatiche. Dipende pesantemente dalla terra, dall’acqua e da altre risorse naturali influenzate dal clima.
Cambiamenti nella produttività agricola, impatti sulle risorse del suolo e dell’acqua, sfide sanitarie per lavoratori agricoli e bestiame. Pensando a come si svilupperà il clima nei prossimi anni, non possiamo fare a meno di domandarci cosa ci aspetta. Come si rifletteranno sulla produzione di alimenti le nuove condizioni? E soprattutto, oltre alla diagnosi dei problemi, quali sono le possibili soluzioni che la scienza sta approntando per mitigare l’impatto dei cambiamenti che già sono in atto?
In una nuova puntata del podcast ne discutiamo con il prof. Damiano Zanotelli, docente di gestione delle risorse agricole alla Facoltà di Scienze agrarie, ambientali e alimentari e parte del gruppo di ricerca in Ecofisiologia ed Ecosistema delle piante. Con lui parleremo di agricoltura, delle sfide globali e anche locali e dei progetti di ricerca che lo vedono impegnato alla Libera Università di Bolzano.
Im Juni wird das fünfte und letzte Arbeitstreffen des Südtiroler Klimabürger:innenrates stattfinden, in dem 56 Repräsentant:innen von Südtirols Bevölkerung konkrete Vorschläge für die Umsetzung des KlimaPlans Südtirol 2040 erarbeiten. Begleitet wird dieser partizipative Prozess von einer Reihe von Südtiroler Wissenschaftler:innen. Eine von ihnen ist die Kulturantrophologien, Geografin und Aktionsforscherin Anja Salzer von unserer Fakultät für Design und Künste.
In einer weiteren Folge unserer aktuellen Reihe zum Schwerpunkt Nachhaltigkeit erzählt die gebürtige Schwarzwälderin über dieses spannende Forschungsprojekt, in dem sie analysiert, inwiefern solche Bürger:innenräte zu mehr Klimagerechtigkeit beitragen können und wie integrativ und inklusiv solche Gremien tatsächlich sind. Die Erkenntnisse daraus sollen dazu beitragen, künftige partizipative Prozesse zu erleichtern und zu verbessern.
Anja Salzer teilt in diesem Gespräch aber auch ihre Erfahrungen aus früheren Forschungsprojekten im Südkaukasus und bricht eine Lanze für die sozialwissenschaftliche Forschung sowie einen transdisziplinären Forschungszugang.
