Join myself and Susana Cardona for a real AF, anticapitalist conversation as we dive into the world of BIPOC and female/marginalized folks entrepreneurship. Susana's story is a testament to making money on your own terms and building a brand with true sazon. If you've ever wondered about exactly what branding is and how it is DIFFERENT from an actual business, this episode is for you. We chat about focusing your energy where you can win, and how your authentic self is valuable as a business owner. This episode will inspire you to infuse your passion with the authenticity of your culture. In Susana's words: "We invent and make everything cool. What [rich people] have is the money. What we have is the f*cking flavor. The sazón!"
About Susana: As the proud daughter of resilient South American immigrants, Susana´s leadership training began from an early age by serving as the key translator, appointment-maker, and cultural interpreter for her family. Armed with her rich, first-gen experience, Susana became a skilled cultural interpreter and business strategist in the hospitality and spirits industries. After nearly two decades of helping men build global brands, Susana decided to bet on herself. In 2016, she launched an online platform for Latinx mothers called The Mamish Community and in 2022, she opened her own boutique agency called COLECTVA—aimed at empowering and amplifying Women-led businesses. You can typically find her sipping a cafecíto, bike riding with her family, and plotting her next move to empower female change-makers.
