“We are holding an offsite for the team. Any suggestions for exercises that will help the team understand our impact on the rest of the organization?”
Kimberly recommends conducting a 360 with external customers to use that information for the offsite exercises.

“How do you determine if someone is coachable or not? A colleague shared that someone in their department does not get along well with others, yet they are a SME (subject matter expert) that is important to the business. Seems a few leaders have tried to coach them and nothing has changed.”
Kimberly offers Lorraine the recommendation that how the coaching is positioned may have a lot to do with the person’s coachability.
Sonia advises Lorraine about two key ingredients to determine coachability.
Jonathan shares with Lorraine a practice (open to feedback) and a priority of those who are coachable.

“Our LATAM region has become a key focus for the company. An executive recently shared that the President in the U.S. has a strategic initiative to invest and grow the talent pool and workforce in the region. Are you seeing this in other organizations? If so, why is it happening now?
Sonia provides bilingual fluency and deep awareness of U. S. cultural norms, as factors for growing the LATAM workforce.
Kimberly’s informs Adolfo that her clients in high tech also have LATAM initiatives. And, it’s not just the same time zone convenience.
Jonathan shares with Adolfo that LATAM workforce is growing for his clients. He offered examples of cost savings that are contributing to the timing.

“I’m the CEO of a recently acquired firm putting together my leadership team There is clear gap around Communication skills between the team I’ve recruited and the legacy leaders I’ve inherited. What is the best way to bridge the gap for the legacy leaders?
Kimberly asks Doug what is his strategy for leader development? Engaging a facilitator, coach or mentoring are possible within the strategy.
Sonia recommends identifying the communication gaps between the groups. Is it about focus i.e. tactical vs. strategic or way of communicating concise vs. verbose as examples.
Jonathan advises Doug to identify what aspect of communication skills need to change which will help him select the right expert to address the gaps.
