  • #19 Having “the talk” or any difficult conversation - in business and in life

This week on the podcast I am thrilled to share with you my colleague and friend Sarah Sproule. She’s a sex educator and the creator of The Evolve School. We talk about how having “the talk” is a doorway to setting up the entire communication and relationship dynamic with our kids (and with others) to have uncomfortable conversations while keeping personal boundaries. This talk goes way beyond the birds and the bees.

  • #18 Living From Circumstances

This episode is part 2 to the conversation we started having last week about how we create change in a lasting way. Now that we’re all familiar with the Levels of Logic, let’s take things one step further and explore how when we live from our circumstances, we’re still at the level of our environment. We’ll explore what we can do in order to transcend those circumstances and parent from a place of power and groundedness.

  • #14 Critical Thinking as the Key to Evolution

Critical thinking is one of the most underestimated, underutilized, underdeveloped skills in life. What is critical thinking, why is it important and how do we encourage our kids to develop it? When only 5% of K-12 schools are actively teaching critical thinking skills, how can we bring this into parenting and what’s the cost if we don’t?

  • #13 On The Difference between Happiness and Joy with Jen Klein

In this episode we get granular about the difference between “happiness” and “joy”. How one is externally focused and thus sets us up for disappointment and disempowerment whereas the other, which is a more growth oriented experience and related to our state of BEING. We also relate this back to parenting and entrepreneurship - as we always do. This episode is a mind shifter, if I ever saw mind shifting!

Our guest Jen Klein is a former international lawyer turned certified Conscious Parenting Coach & certified InnerGuidance Facilitator & Coach. She is the co founder of InnerGuidance Canada.

Jen works with individuals, couples, parents and families.  She offers transformational coaching and programs both online and in-person to illuminate and unpack conditioning, belief systems and patterns that are hindering one’s ability to live their highest potential in all areas of life. As "The Conscious Negotiator," Jen teaches clients how to shift the repetitive, destructive self-talk into a more conscious, optimized inner dialogue. Clients learn how to breakthrough internal conflict, renegotiate their internal & external world and create a new, supportive relationship with themselves and others.

Leave us a review and tell us what you took away from this, and how you’re going to shift perspective going forward!!

  • #12 There are no Easy or Difficult Kids

In this week's episode we ask ourselves - could it be that our perception of our children is what's causing us to experience them through a particular lens? and if so, how do we change that perception so we can also change our experience? This is an eye opener if you've never stopped to think about how often you label and judge your kid and how that affects your perception of them. One of the topics I am asked about the most in parenting....

  • #10 Punishment Doesn't Work

Today on the podcast we will examine the belief that if we don't discipline our kids, they will end up in prison, or something equally terrible. Underlying that belief is a fear, which we're going to take a look at and also ask ourselves if there is actually any evidence based studies that can correlate lack of punishment with increased rates of incarceration? Or is it actually the opposite? hmmmmm.....

Feel free to check out the studies I mentioned in the podcast here:

We'll also invite you to participate in a free masterclass on May 18th at 9am PST to talk about how we can raise good kids who listen and respect us WITHOUT the need to punish?
