Happy Pride!

This week's pod features one of Unsent's BFFs, Merissa Cope (they/them)!

Merissa and their partner are the first ones to buy tix to every show, and Unsent just wouldn't be the same without their beautiful faces in the audience!

Not only does Merissa show up for Unsent in every way, they also got on stage at our Sex Edition on Sept 21st, 2024 at Town Hall Collaborative in Denver, Colorado.

Merissa is a non-binary non-monogamous lover of feelings and whimsy. They are also a sex therapist, professor, dog dad, climber, and a thrifter, amongst other things. This was the first time they got on the mic in about 10 years, and the first time ever that they've talked about their gender on stage!

We're thrilled to share the incredibly powerful and empowering Unsent by Sarah Naomi on this week's podcast. They got on the mic at our Unsent Money Show on April 25, 2025 at Town Hall Collaborative.

Sarah Naomi is a yoga and sound healing facilitator, singer, mother, creative, and entrepreneur. They are the founder of Align with Purpose, a social and healing justice project that bridges their work in the trauma field with their experiences of building resilience within their community. Through collaborations with BIPOC artists, healers, and activists they host monthly community dinners and song circles, quarterly item exchange events, and a community garden in the summer months. This week's pod features none other than Andrea Yvonne!

Andrea is a Middle School educator by day who loves to bring her spunky and creative energy after school onto the stage. She performs improv comedy with two main troupes:

Subtext Improv performs book themed improv at Fiction Beer and the What If Theatre monthly.

And District 9 Comedy, Denver's longest running all BIPOC team, performs monthly at RISE Comedy and all over town. Outside of comedy, Andrea is a state champion skeeball player.

Andrea shared her surprising, hilarious and poignant unsent at our Money Show on April 25th, 2025 at Town Hall Collaborative in Denver, Colorado.

This week's pod features none other than Abby Templeton Greene!

Abby Templeton Greene is a Denver native, and the Co-founder and Co-Executive Director of Sidewalk Poets, a Denver based nonprofit organization that believes in the transformative power of art and storytelling.

She is the author of three books of poetry and has over 17 years of classroom teaching experience teaching in Title 1 public schools. According to her 9 year old son some of her favorite things to do are: eating food outside, spray painting metal things and sometimes taking naps.

Fun fact: Not only did Abby get on the mic at our Money Show on April 25, 2025 at Town Hall Collaborative in Denver, Abby and Courtney of Sidewalk Poets also partnered with us on this special show!

We had a beautiful time at our Unsent Money Show on April 25 at Town Hall Collaborative in Denver, CO. And the audience was the best! In fact, they were so good, we made a whole podcast featuring their unsents!

At every Unsent Live Show, we hand each audience member a piece of paper and pencil and encourage them to write anonymous unsent messages that host Britt reads aloud on stage between each Unsent reader!

Hesse casts a wide net in his journalistic curiosities, covering everything from science, crime and politics, to pop culture, the arts, sex and drugs. He is the author of two novels, as well as the non-fiction “Runner’s High: How A Movement of Cannabis-Fueled Athletes Is Changing The Science of Sports.” In 2025 his memoir “On Fire For God: Fear, Shame and Poverty In The Christian Right,” will be released on Pantheon Books.

LaQuetta is a Proud Black Woman, mother of a 20 year old son, Community Leader/Advocate, entrepreneur and Director of Implementation of Black Parent Network (BPN) in Denver, Colorado.

LaQuetta got on the mic at our Education Edition at a private Denver home in November 2023. This special show was presented by New Leader's Council and co-hosted by Anna Graves of The Field Academy.

Saxon Kincy also known as Old Man Saxon, is a Denver-based rapper, educator, and storyteller. Widely recognized from his standout performance on Netflix's Rhythm + Flow, Saxon is co-founder of the nonprofit Three Things, parent company of @unsentshow, which he started alongside his wife, @imbabyluck. Where they offer writing, music, and performance workshops that empower older adults to reflect on their pasts and youth to reimagine their futures.

We're thrilled to feature Fawn O'Breitzman on this week's pod!

Fawn is out to change the world. She has done it through social work, therapy, teaching, and finally as one of the owners of the Sexploratorium. After two decades of teaching Human Sexuality, she found that most people had very little understanding of their bodies, let alone other people's bodies and had no where to learn, outside of a college environment. Fawn and her wife want to make sex ed a normal part of existence at all ages!

Not only did Fawn and her Sexploratorium co-host our Body Edition on Nov 16, 2024 at Town Hall Collaborative, she also got on the Unsent mic to share a hilarious and surprisingly love letter to her body.
