Unsigned518 episodes
- The Unsigned Unwind - Episode 1 - The Second Inversions
Welcome to the Unsigned Unwind. This show is an attempt to gather great local music from all over the US and Canada, have a brief conversation with the band/musician and play one of their songs. My goal is that local-music enthusiasts, such as myself, can discover great local music that otherwise may have remained hidden to them. Ultimately, I would love to have local bands from different areas not only get to know each others music, but play shows together and really build a community.
This show is all about discovery. Not just yours, as a listener, but mine as well. The way the show operates is our showrunner, Angela Tourangeau schedules guests for me to talk to. I am not given any information about who I will be speaking with beforehand, just a name and a phone number. This way, as I find out where they are from, what their bands name is, what kind of music they play, influences, etc, you will be finding out right along with me.
I hope to have all genres, and from all over the US and Canada. If you are interested in coming on the show, or having a member of your band come on the show, send an email to [email protected]
On this episode, I will be speaking with Hailey of the group The Second Inversions out of Cincinatti, OH.

17 min - Unsigned518 presents: Marty Wendell's 60th Anniversary Special
There is little to say about Marty Wendell that hasn't already been said. The man is an absolute legend, having worked alongside such notable figures as Johnny Cash, Marty Stuart, Kris Kristofferson, Pete Seeger and many, many more. Having been familiar with Marty Wendell for more than half of my life, it is an understatement to say it was a real thrill to have him over to the Dazzle Den for a conversation that spanned his 60 years as a performing songwriter. Marty has a lot planned this year for his 60th anniversary, and you can hear all about it on this special episode of Unsigned518.
I hope you enjoy listening to this as much as I enjoyed recording it.

34 min - Unsigned518 - Episode 128 - No Such Thing As Ghosts
No Such Thing As Ghosts may be new on the scene, but some of the members have a fairly long and prolific history in the 518. The "final form" of the group just came together a few months ago, but they are already making a name for themselves, having won "Favorite Alt/Indie" act at the 2024 Listen Up awards. I had such a great time hanging out with this band and I really think you will dig them, as well. So, check out episode 128, which includes 2 live in-studio performances from No Such Thing As Ghosts.

29 min - Unsigned518 - Episode 127 - Sons of EdenSons of Eden are a relatively new band that formed at Sienna college, but they have the sound, the determination and the songwriting chops to take the band far beyond their former campus halls. Influenced by the grunge sound of the early 90s, Sons of Eden's songs certainly flex that influence while adding their own flair to the mix. While they don't have anything released as of this episode, their first single is recorded and in the mixing phase, so it should be along shortly. They also went directly to a video shoot after leaving the Dazzle Den, so an accompanying video won't be far behind. Sons of Eden played 2 songs live in the Dazzle Den and if you would like to see a video performance of their song "Candlelight", you can check out my new youtube page at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJ0dRv9CWox-KM8wfKUSGvQUnsigned518 theme song written and performed by simplemachine. About Unsigned518
From the publisher's feed
A podcast dedicated to putting a spotlight on bands and musicians in the 518 area. Created, Produced and Hosted by Andy Scullin of ShortWave RadioBand.
Each Tuesday, Andy sits down with a musician or band from the 518 (or close by) and they have a completely unplanned discussion about music, or whatever else happens to come up.
Think of it as less of an interview and more of a conversation.
Unsigned518's Weekend Spotlight: Released every Thursday, the Weekend Spotlight is a supplemetal episode that gives you just a taste of the events happening in the 518. Weekend Spotlight also plays a couple of songs from 518 bands or musicians that have shows that weekend.
New to Unsigned518 is The Unsigned Unwind. On The Unsigned Unwind, I will talk to a member of a local band somewhere in the US or Canada. We will hear a little bit about the band and their music, and then find out what the artist does to relax, or unwind when their schedule allows. The Unsigned Unwind is released every other Wednesday.
