In today's episode I am thrilled to interview Bitten Jonsson, Registered Nurse and Addiction and Relapse Prevention Specialist. Bitten is a forerunner in the sugar addiction field in Sweden and is currently translating her book, "Sugarbomb" into English. She is also on the Board of Directors of the Food Addiction Institute and a faculty member of INFACT. She is one of several experts answering questions on Diet Doctor. She has developed a Holistic Addiction Medicine and SUGAR protocol and is now training and educating the new generation of Sugar Addiction Counselors. She is also my personal hero for all the wonderful work she is doing to help others get free!

In today's episode I talk about turning the big 4-0 and surviving! I also talk about my summer and some exciting interviews I have planned for the fall. I hope everyone is enjoying summer and getting some R&R. I will be back for Season 2 on Wednesday, September 11 with all new episodes! I have some great interviews lined up including:
In today's episode I read from journal entries before I gave up sugar and flour and talk about how I was feeling. I plan on taking a short summer hiatus and in September, will return with all new episodes! I will read more of my journal entries and share what it felt like day-to-day as I abstained from all sugar and all flour and how I survived it. So stay tuned for September and have a great summer!
In today's episode I get to talk to my good friend, Jess Nolt, about Young Living Essential Oils. This is part of my series highlighting different alternative resources that are available to you to help with everyday life. I personally have been using oils more frequently to help me on my journey now that I no longer use sugar to numb and soothe myself.
In last week's episode I talked about how to transform your home to be chemical and toxin free. And then my friend Jess messaged me to point out that there was "fragrance" in a lot of the trusted brands I use. So I had to re-examine things and went down a bit of a rabbit hole... I watched "STINK", the amazing documentary that talks about the dangers of the word fragrance listed as an ingredient. I re-examined all my products and wanted to pull my hair out for a little bit. Then I took a deep breath and decided to be grateful for this opportunity to look for better alternatives. In today's episode I interview Jess Nolt, my dear friend, about some healthy alternatives to products that use fragrance.
In today's episode I talk about how I slowly changed out all my house products over time and through trial and error to find the best chemical free alternatives. There are so many toxins and chemicals in so many products that we use daily that can cause some serious harm to our bodies. As I have been transforming myself to becoming sugar and flour free, it has been important to me to also make sure other products that I use in my home and on my body are healthy and free from toxins and chemicals.
Some websites I mention:
Environmental Working Group (EWG) - https://www.ewg.org/ - check out the dirty dozen, clean fifteen and skin deep database!
Pharmaca - https://www.pharmaca.com/ - great deals on vitamins but I also buy a lot of my cleaning products here.
Jet - https://jet.com/ - also a great place to buy some discounted alternative cleaning products for your home.
In today's episode I talk about how to stay confident when faced with challenges and obstacles along your journey to freedom from sugar addiction. I also talked about Every Mother to help resolve diastasis recti and the results I am already seeing in the first few weeks.
In today's episode I talk about why you can't find me on social media and also give an update on my book and talk about how I am trying to stay true to myself.
In today's episode I talk to my dear friend, Courtney Cheng, about turning 40 this year. Courtney and I met as sophomores in college and have been friends now for almost 20 years. We have been through so much together and have helped each other through many highs and lows in our lives. I am so grateful for our enduring friendship and the opportunity to sit down and chat about what turning 40 feels like for both of us.
In today's episode I talk about how I celebrated Easter and how I have managed to navigate holidays, family gatherings, parties, etc. and remain sugar and flour free. It's not easy but it is totally doable and I share some tips that help me.
