USC LAFB: A USC Trojans Show

The USC Trojans have added another Preferred Walk-On to the 2026 roster.

Jaden Lyons, a graduate transfer from the University of Virginia, has committed to USC. During his time at Virginia, Lyons ran track and field and did not play football.

Let's get into what this addition means.

USC Trojans freshman wide receiver Kayden Dixon-Wyatt was featured on the 'Made By Taeg' YouTube Channel, where they filmed behind the scenes showing a day in the life.

During the episode, he went to USC's campus to get some extra work in with fellow freshmen Boobie Feaster, Deshonne Redeaux, and Jonas Williams.

All the players looked explosive, and during the working, KDW and Feaster got into a fun and spirited debate on whether the best high school players come from California or Texas. Who got it right?

I give my thoughts on the sequence and expectations for KDW this season.

The Division 1 Oversight Committee just ruled in favor of the College Football Season beginning on Week 0 moving forward in 2027, which eliminates the need for a waiver. This means that the USC Trojans vs Notre Dame game can continue, beginning next season, without any issues.

This is what the USC Trojans wanted, and proposed to Notre Dame before the Fighting Irish shut it down and scheduled a new series with BYU. Looks like the ball may be in their court to pick the historic series back up.

Also, a few other rules and regulations were changed, which will affect USC and how they recruit and develop moving forward.

Another USC Trojans 2029 target is off the board...for now. Elite wide receiver out of Bellflower, CA, Austin Miller, just committed to Ohio State.

2029 is a long way away. How hard will USC pursue a flip?

Bill Connelly released his initial ESPN SP+ rankings back in the Spring. Just recently, he provided an update for the Big Ten and where the USC Trojans stack up within the conference.

Based purely on data, the Trojans are a fringe College Football Playoff team. If a thing or two swing in their favor, they should make their first appearance.

The thought was that all 35 players in the USC Trojans 2026 Class had enrolled for the Fall season, but just last night, defensive tackle Malik Brooks announced that he had committed to Southwest College (JUCO).

What happened, and does this spell the end for Brooks with USC, or just a gap year?

2029 is a long way away. That didn't stop USC Trojans target Kiingbaraka Kizzee from announcing his commitment. 4 weeks ago, it looked like USC was the frontrunner, but over the weekend, he made the announcement that he would be committing to the UCLA Bruins.

Will this commitment hold up, and will the Trojans continue pursuing him? What is the process of committing this early?

Let's get into it.
