USC LAFB: A USC Trojans Show

Just a few days after USC Trojans 5-star commit Honor Fa'alave Johnson announced that his recruitment was shut down and he was locked in with the Trojans, another commit has come forward with a similar announcement.

4-star DB Danny Lang told our friend Kendell Holowell of SI at today's Mater Dei showcase that he was shutting down his recruitment and is fully locked in with the Trojans.

It was announced this morning that the ACC, the Big 12, and Notre Dame have joined the side of the Big Ten in moving towards a 24-team playoff.

Why would Notre Dame do this when they were given a sweetheart deal for the current 12-team model? I explain why they will be begging for it and why they absolutely will need USC on their schedule every year in the future.

Every time the USC Trojans and Notre Dame Fighting Irish get brought up, it is going to be met with a lot of discourse, and frankly, a lot of false narratives and made-up conspiracies.

The latest reasoning in the game discontinuing is one of the sillier reasons that I have heard in quite some time.

This game will eventually be back on the schedule, but for now, these wild discussions will continue on.

Many of the USC Trojans coaching staff are down in San Diego today to visit 5-star commitment, Honor Fa'alave Johnson.

This is great news in fortifying his commitment, as many of the big programs are circling in an attempt to flip him away.

Here is the latest on where he stands.

We officially have a commitment date as elite defensive back Gavin Williams announces that he will make his school choice on Sunday, May 17th.

His Top 4 are USC, Notre Dame, Washington, and UCLA. Let's dive into where the Trojans stand and why I feel so confident.

When you have one of the top recruiting classes, with a lot of blue-chip players, many of the top programs will attempt to flip your commits. That is certainly the case with the USC Trojans' 2027 Class.

We have talked about many other commits, but now elite DB Danny Lang is the latest to reveal that teams, specifically the Oregon Ducks and Ohio State Buckeyes, continue to recruit him.

Recruiting is a 24/7 endeavor, and the Trojans will need to stay on top of everything all the way to signing day.

The sharks are lurking as the Miami Hurricanes are the latest premier school to throw their hat in the ring to attempt to flip some of the USC Trojans' commits in the 2027 class.

This is not a new thing, and certainly will not be something that just goes away. What is the latest, and is there any reason for concern or just business as usual in the world of recruiting?

The USC Trojans and Notre Dame Fighting Irish are one of the greatest rivalries in all of college sports. That rivalry went on pause last year when both sides could not come to a new agreement. Ryan Kartje of the LA Times is now reporting that discussions between the two sides have begun again, with the two sides hopeful that a new deal will come into place, at the latest by 2030.

What has changed, and will USC get its way with the rivalry moving to the beginning of the schedule?
