USC LAFB: A USC Trojans Show

We are two days away from the USC Trojans kicking off against TCU in the Alamo Bowl. Tonight, defensive coordinator D'Anton Lynn spoke with the media.

It is the first time that Lynn has spoken to the media since his name came up as a possible defensive coordinator for Matt Campbell at his alma mater, Penn State.

Did this press conference tell us anything new? Plus, some insights on young defensive players who should get plenty of playing time on Tuesday.

Finally, USC EDGE Coach Shaun Nua also saw his name pop up this morning as a possible defensive coordinator hire. What is the latest on that?

Once the year changes to 2026, the USC Trojans should begin to gain some commitments for the 2027 recruiting class. They are in a really good spot for multiple elite recruits, especially local ones from Southern California.

One of those is top-ranked safety Gavin Williams. Who are the Trojans competing with, and how likely are they to land Williams when he does decide to commit?

On Christmas Eve, the USC Trojans announced the re-signing of four more players.

With the re-signing of two more linebackers, including full-time starter Desman Stephens, will the Trojans still pursue a linebacker in the transfer portal?

Fans may not like it, but Notre Dame was unwilling to adapt and live up to their own "play anywhere, any time" credo that they have lived behind during the duration of these ongoing negotiations.

You don't have to like what has transpired, but USC made the right decision to hold firm in putting their program first.
