USC LAFB: A USC Trojans Show

The USC Trojans will be aggressive in the Transfer Portal this offseason as they look to add top-end, starting quality talent. This list will change frequently as more players announce their entrance, but as of December 9th, I have compiled this list of my Top 5 Targets for the Trojans.

I include 2 linebackers, 1 wide receiver, 1 safety, and 1 defensive lineman, plus 3 honorable mentions.

This morning, I spoke about a defensive back that the USC Trojans are trending for: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JLj0nn-3RO0&t=17s

The college football transfer portal is not officially open for business yet, but the USC Trojans are in a really good spot to land a defensive back.

Carrington Pierce entered the portal from Oklahoma State after his head coach, Mike Gundy, was fired early in the season. He played a year in JUCO prior to this season.

How does he fit, and would this be a good addition for the Trojans?

While it doesn't immediately impact the USC Trojans this year, the CFP Committee keeping Notre Dame out of the College Football Playoff will have a residual effect on the Trojans and their future matchup with Notre Dame.

Will more Power 4 teams decide not to schedule Notre Dame? Will the Fighting Irish ultimately join the Big Ten? Will ND decide to give in and schedule USC at the beginning of the season?

Let's discuss! Tune in and make sure to like and subscribe to the USC LAFB YouTube Channel!

It is time for the USC Trojans to turn the page on the historic 2026 Class and begin focusing on building out the 2027 Class.

4-star Aaryn Washington out of Mater Dei is a prospect that the Trojans have been recruiting hard for most of the year. He just released his Top 2 schools, and it looks like the Trojans are in a pretty good spot, competing against a defensive powerhouse.

Where will Washington end up? Tune in and make sure to like and subscribe to the USC LAFB YouTube Channel!

The College Football Playoff is officially set, and the Bowl Game and opponent for the USC Trojans have been announced.

We have known for a while that the Trojans would likely be playing in the Alamo Bowl, but their opponent had been unknown. Many thought that BYU would be the matchup, but now it has been revealed that the Trojans will face off against TCU.

Last night, USC Trojans offensive lineman Micah Banuelos announced his intention to enter the transfer portal when it opens in January.

This is now the 10th USC player to enter the portal, and more will be coming. Banuelos played a lot of snaps on the offensive line this season, so what does this mean for the unit heading into the bowl game?

The purge has officially begun for the USC Trojans, as 3 more players have announced their intention to enter the transfer portal, and these are the most surprising ones yet.

True freshman LB Matai Tagoa'i, redshirt freshman DL Carlon Jones, and redshirt senior Anthony Beavers Jr. all plan to enter the transfer portal when it opens in January.

Is this a product of the USC staff making roster changes or something else?

The Big Ten Conference just handed out its 2025 season awards, and USC Trojans wide receiver Makai Lemon DID NOT win the award for best receiver; that honor went to Ohio State receiver Jeremiah Smith for the second straight year.

There is no denying the upside and skill set of Smith, but for 2025, should the award have gone to Lemon?

The USC Trojans completed their historic 2026 recruiting class yesterday by signing 35 players. Today, two more players have been announced as intending to enter the transfer portal.

2nd-year offensive lineman Makai Saina and true freshman safety Stephen Miller will enter the transfer portal when it opens in January.

Any concern or just another example of the numbers game and players getting lost in the wash?

Yesterday was a historic day as the USC Trojans locked down one of their best recruiting classes of all time. The coaching staff deserves a ton of flowers, and many are getting recognized as some of the top recruiters in the country.

The only drama at all yesterday was the delay in elite tight end Mark Bowman submitting his papers. We put to bed everything surrounding that, as Bowman is now officially a Trojan.

Finally, many around the social sphere want to mock the number of commits that USC took on, jeering "quantity" over "quality." This is absolutely false, and here is why.
