Emily Buss, a member of the Forward Party of Utah, is the only third-party officeholder on Capitol Hill, and that’s turning some heads. She secured the seat after Senator Daniel Thatcher resigned from the legislature, and there are some on Capitol Hill who believe that seat should have gone to a Republican because that’s what Thatcher ran on before he vacated. Greg and Holly speak with Chair of the Forward Party, Michelle Quist, about the proposal included in Senator Mike McKell's omnibus election bill that would make any future vacancies be filled with someone from the same political party the prior officeholder held during the most recent election.
