  • 140- Angry man rams vegans with trolley!

Blimey, that was a bit of week wasn't it?! In this episode, Julie, Dominic & Anthony examine a blustering week full of some of the most controversial and divisive stories we've seen since we started Enough of the Falafel: Angry shoppers yelling at Animal Rising demonstrators, dead piglets being dropped on doorsteps, elephants being denied legal personhood, and Julie getting suspicious that Dale Vince is making a bold claim that isn't his to make!  In total we look at nine stories from the vegan & animal rights space from the last week or so.

Each week we look through news stories from the past 7 days in the world of veganism & animal rights.

  • 139- Do animal sanctuaries use too many vegan resources?

Saving & prolonging the lives of innocent non-human animals is valuable & heart-warming work. But with tens of billions of animals needlessly losing their lives to human exploitation every year, could the finite resources of the vegan movement be applied more effectively? Ant, Carlos & Mark explore this thorny question in this episode.

  • 137- California wildfire victims receive vegan respite

The terrible wildfires raging across California at the moment are truly awful news, for human and non-human animals alike. One tiny kernel of positivity amidst the horror however is the actions of plant-based pop-up Vurger Guyz, who have provided over a thousand plant-based meals to some of those affected by the tragedy, as well as receiving support from actor Tabitha Borwn, and plant-based giants, Beyond Meat. As well as this story, Carlos & Anthony look at ten stories from the vegan & animal rights space from the last week or so.

If you're reading this, we're probably preaching to the choir. But really, you do have to be so careful to read beyond the headline! South Lakes Zoo may have closed, but the animals who were subject to horrific treatment, seem to be no better off, as this week we learn how they will be rehomed. In this episode, Julie, Kate & Anthony look at this, plus another eight stories from the vegan & animal rights space from the last couple of weeks.
