So much happening in the vegan/animal rights world! This weekend California Governor Gavin Newsom signed into law key legislation to protect animals! Now, California will become the first state to ban the sale and manufacture of new fur products! This is a massive victory that animal advocates believe will encourage other states to follow suit and spell the end of this cruel and unnecessary industry. The California fur ban, which prohibits the sale or manufacture of clothing, shoes or handbags with fur, goes into effect in 2023. Fur sale bans are already in place in Los Angeles and San Francisco. The Fur Information Council of America is threatening to sue. On top of that, California has become the third state to ban all animals, except for domestic dogs, cats and horses, from circus performances! Animal advocates believe this spells the beginning of the end of animals in circuses everywhere.
