Topic: Reconciliation - 2. Reconciliation Has The Acess To The Blessings, To The Power Of God And Peace And Joy Reigns Within.

Well, Without Reconciliation it harbors bitterness and vengeance...

Reconciliation brings peace and joy..

Have you ever been hurt by someone else, and wanted to hurt them back? Get even? Seek revenge? Retaliate? Even had murderous thoughts like Esau, Joseph’s brothers?

Esau, the Old Testament character, had those feelings having being cheated and deceived by his own Bro., Jacob and mother, Rebekah.

Genesis 27:41

And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing wherewith his father blessed him: and Esau said in his heart, The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then will I slay my brother Jacob.

The story of Esau and Jacob reads like a juicy novel. The brothers were born to Isaac, the sons of Abraham. When Isaac is near death, he desires to give to Esau, the older of the two brothers, his blessing.

The blessing is given to the firstborn son. In this case, that is Esau. Yet, as the story unfolds, at the wicked scheming of his mother, Rebekah makes and misleads Jacob, the younger son, trick and deceive his father, Isaac, so that the blessing is given to Jacob, whose name by the way means "Deceiver."

Imagine the shock and horror that Esau feels when he learns of the deception.

And immediate reaction of Esau was revenge - to slay and finish off Jacob as soon as his father, Isaac dies.

As we heard today's devotional verses, Esau was waiting to kill his own bro as soon as his father, Isaac dies.

The absence of reconciliation robs the church of the power of unity....

The absence of reconciliation robs homes peace, joy and happiness.

Reconciliation is more beautiful than victory.

"Forgive others, not because they deserve forgiveness, but because you deserve peace."

"The church is not a theological classroom. It's a conversion, confession, repentance, forgiveness, reconciliation and sanctification centre, where flawed people peace their faith in Christ.... - Paul David Trip.

From the story of Jacob and Esau we can learn the steps to reconciliation.

Topic: Reconciliation: It Has Numerous Blessings. Gives Peace Joy And Fruitfulnes Visible To The World.

A person who reconciles has already invested several other good things in his heart.

Only a person who forgives can reconcile. Otherwise it's impossible for reconciliation. Only when he has true genuine love in his heart ❤️, again I say it's impossible to forgive.

2 Corinthians 5:18-19,

NIV.

All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation:

that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.

Reconciliation is closely linked with true or genuine forgiveness and true genuine pure love within.

I observe relationship problem is on the rampage in homes, in churches, among relatives thereby truly deprived of peace within, harmony and joy.

Because of no reconciliation, it need not be told, there will be no cocommunication, no forgiveness and it proves cup is empty with no love at all.

Wars like Ukraine and Russia, India - Pakistan, India-China happen in few homes, amongst relatives and in churches. Love professed from outside, but bitterness, envy and hatred within...

No power will give us joy. No wealth will give us joy.

No status will give us joy.

But those who practice this reconciliation in their homes, offices, churches, business houses, among relatives, with friends are people who enjoy good health, joy, happiness, satisfaction in addition to what God gave them..

When you reconcile at home, there is peace and joy in home. Spouse and children are happy.

When you reconcile with your relatives there is peace among them.

When you reconcile in your church with others there is peace, good health fruitfulness to the one who takes the step of reconciliation.

There has been a huge widened gap between the sinful mankind and God Almighty. God sent His only son Jesus Christ and He became a mediator and a reconciliator between God and man. And thus, Jesus became the only way to our heavenly Father.

Help us to reconcile with those we harbour hatred, envy and bitterness so that we are blessed with forgiveness, love and healthy relationship....

Topic: A New Creation In Christ. - 2. It's A New Hope Of Joy Peace Contentment And Security In Christ.

If a person is a new creation in Christ he or she dislikes all sins since they have crucified the old nature completely with Christ.

Apostle Paul says. "I am crucified with Christ. It's Not I anymore but Christ liveth in me. Gal. 2:20.

Revival is standstill today, because everyone says they are a néw creation but most of them do not surender their self, Ego, I . They rule instead of allowing Christ to rule. Then the christian thermometer shows, it's not a real and genuine transformation.

What does a person who is a new creation in Christ doesn't like to do?

Those who have received Christ as their Saviour and become a new creation in Christ *they do not do like to do certain things which they used to do earlier.* This is a sign and conviction that the person transformation is true and visible.

They are:

They avoid people, places, practices, programs and publications that tempt them to sin.

They will not be jealous anymore.

#

They will not be power mongers.

#

They will not be self glory seekers.

#

They will not be corrupt and dishonest in their talk and walk.

#

They will avoid foolish discussions and arguments.

#

They will flee from the desires of youthly flesh.

# They will not be harsh, rude and violent.

#

They will not have the desire to seek limelight and praises of people.

# They will never harden their hearts to help the poor and needy.

#

They will not see things which which pervert their hearts;

They will not walk to places which lead to unholiness and sin.

A person who is in Christ then what he desires or likes to do or be always?

#

They love to be with godly people who love the Lord.

..Love to have right fellowship.

#

They love to have the longingness and eagerness to read and meditate God's Word. Ps. 119: 9,11, 105, 165.

#

Will have the desire to pray always and everywhere. Mt. 4:4. Watch and pray that you will not fall into temptation. Spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Topic: A New Creation! Always New Things Or New Experience, New Or Fresh News, Brings Joy, Excitement And Wonder.

There is a saying, "Yesterday's newspaper is today's waste paper." People want fresh and new news and not stale. 😨

*2 Corinth. 5:17. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation....*

As we all know SSC exam results have been out in our state yesterday and few days back in Andhra Pradesh. I always love young children who show the desire to study hard and excel in their studies. I'm glad many, whom I know have not just passed but excelled. Praise Jesus!

Now, their career takes a new twist. Transition from school atmosphere to a new exciting environment 😁 where there is more freedom comparitively from schooling. But more responsibility. 😇.

No more same old teachers but new lecturers, new friends, different campus. No more school uniform.

Transition from a school life to a new college life.

Im an ardent reader of Hindu Newspaper right from my high school days, as it is known for it's sound and excellent literature. I used to wait for Hindu Newspaper and read with so much of pleasure the inspiring topics they publish penned by renowned authors. And I find sooo many new words while they narrate their experiences. I used to write those difficult, new words with the sentences and check the meanings and note them in my diary. For me, at that time - new words, new excitement. 😁

I know a person - a college friend of mine who found pleasure in his first new experiment in life with Alcohol. To please his friend he took once. A New experience! But he became an addict to Alcohol soon and his lever and kidneys too have been damaged. And today, he is unable to walk.

Every new experience or experiment has to be evaluated before we take up. I was about to experiment with the world in the pleasures. That time there was United summer VBS of all churches put together in the twin cities. VBS quiz was conducted for all students of different churches put together. And I stood 2nd, and one from Sec-bad Methodist church stood first. Coming back to late teenage eccitement, as I said, I was contemplating to put my ideas into action to experiment with the world.

Just then new found VBS friends from Methodist church invited me to attend the YFC camp ... during the 2nd week of October, 1981.

During that time a very dedicated and gifted person Christopher David uncle was there as director of YFC alongwith a loving Hepzy aunty, his dear wife.

I went to the camp for fun. I was an introvert and a conservative too. To cut it short, on the last day during the camp fire, it was the call of the Lord. You know. Camp fire means, no lights fortunately. Only fire in the middle. As I said, I was a shy, nervous and introvert person, poor in english.

Many young boys and girls stood up one after the other and went to the Mike yo share their testimonies. There were two voices within. One voice says, "Don't go, you cannot stand before everyone. You cannot speak." 😨. But something in me pulled me and I was led to go and put the paper in the fire 🔥 and shared for the first time inviting Christ. We are supposed to write all our favorite things/sins and put it in the fire and then share our commitment.

Old things, Old friends, Old habits, Old lifestyle has passed away instantly like the present instant coffee. It gave me no more pleasure.

New friends, new habits, new lifestyle and the desire to move away from the things of the world has taken priority. That new encounter with Christ is a new creation in Christ....

In this new creation in Christ, you will move away from places that will destroy you, you will move away from friends that take you to wrong path...

This new creation in Christ is the greatest decision anyone can have.

What Is The Greatest Decision In Your Life?

For the last few days we have been meditating on the decisions of Abraham, Isaac, Elimelech, Naomi, Ruth, Abigail, David, Hannah, Mary.... and others.

Making decisions will always be difficult because it takes time and energy to weigh our opinions.

Well for some the need of the great decision can be a good career,

for some pursuing an education,

choosing a good, loving, and understanding life partner,

managing finances,

for some taking calculated risks,

decision to have a good comfortable new house 🏠,

building good relationships.

The hardest decisions?

Type of career to choose.

Whom should I marry?...

To know when to quit a job and get a new better job.

Well, all these decisions no doubt are very very important and needed. Must not neglect. As long as we live, we need to make right decisions and those righr choices to live a comfortable life. If a student studies hard and sincerely he or she will have bright and secured future and respectable position in the society. Very few Christians we see in good positions in the society.

All these right decisions will help us as long as we live on this planet earth. We must understand that we cannot take any of these once we leave this earth. We are just pilgrims in this world.

So, the greatest decision therfore a human being can make is - to receive Jesus Christ as the Saviour and the Lord. It gives eternal life.

Means-

#

To believe Jesus died for our sins and rose again.

#

To confess and repent 100% of our sins.

#

To be washed with His blood.

#

And to receive Him as the Lord and Saviour.

Then you become a new creation in Christ. And as you keep growing, your inner man become stronger and stronger as you become older and older. That's the beauty of a Christian life.

I have taken this greatest decision in the year 1981, October, 12th in a YFC youth camp at Moinabad.

Is being Born Again an option?

Well, John 3:3, Jesus did not say to the rich ruler, Nocodimus, you may be born again, or try to be born again. But Jesus said, "You Must Be Born Again." Whether rich, poor, King, president, everyone has to be born again to have eternal life.

I pray for those who are yet to take this greatest decision to have you as their Lord and Saviour so that they too have eternal life Lord.

I also pray for those who are not sure of Salvation struggling in this world still in carnal nature without peace and victory and right conviction.

I also pray for also for those who are secured in Christ to have the passion and desire to build God's Kingdom, the kingdom of love, peace and righteousness...... and not to be tempted to build their name, fame and their kingdoms....

"I Should Have.....

I Shouldn't Have....."

These two thoughts revolve around human mind time and again....

Gen. 22: 2. God said to Abraham, "Take your only son, whom you love, Isaac and sacrifice him on the mountain at Moriah."

So Abraham rose early morning saddled his donkey, two of his young men with him and Isaac his son and went to the place of which God has told him.

The Bible is full of men and women of God who walked diligently the righteous godly path and God gave them wisdom to trust Him and take right decisions. We can take the women like Abigail, Hannah, Ruth, Mary, mother of Jesus. And God rewarded them for their godly decisions.

We too, for all good decisions we have taken, the Lord has blessed us. And for wrong decisions we certainly regret..

Our complete life on this earth as I said, revolves around two thoughts always. 1. "I should have..."

And 2. "I shouldn't have..."

Even Abraham must have surely regretted for taking the advise of Sarah his wife to have a child through her hand maiden, Hagar.

Even today, the son of Hagar and Abraham, Ishmael called as Ishmalites settled in Gaza strip, Palestine and other Arab countries are enemies. They are a thorn in the lives of Israelites and we see even today the ongoing war between Palestinians, Arabs against Israelites.

Coming back to the godly decision by Abraham. He was asked to give by the Lord Almighty, the only promised son, Isaac who was born to them after 25 years as a sacrifice.

Here we see Abraham took the most challenging, and costly decision to sacrifice Isaac. When Abraham took the decision and while going, did he tell Sarah?

Sarah after sooo many struggles and wait she got Isaac. And he must be in teens at that time. Surely Sarah would have locked Abraham from outside had she knew God's command. He must have not told Sarah the situation and development.

We see the scene here where Abraham tied Isaac. As Abraham was tying Isaac, young, energetic and strong Isaac would have pushed his old father aside who must be around 115 years. And could have in rage shouted and abused Abraham for misleading him. But to my joy and astonishment Isaac looks like a humble guy allowing his father to tie him to be the sacrifice. Decision Of Isaac to submit to father's action without his fault I feel has to be hailed as the most noteworthy and praiseworthy decision of the young lad.

Such children bring sweetness, joy, peace, happiness and satisfaction in family which is worth more than crores of rupees of bank balance. There are few such blessed young people even today. May they be blessed.

But on the other side in the western world, USA, Australia and Newzeland, I heard from many of my friends, parents keep advising and requesting their young children not to come late in the night during weekends, being holidays. Leave alone coming late in the night, understand these young people stay away whole night out partying and dancing without any fear of parents and reverence whatsoever. I heard sometimes, they do not come home for two nights consecutively. It all depends on how parents in such environment bring them up....

Coming back to Abraham holy decision, because of the obedience of Abraham and Isaac the Lord blessed 12 tribes of Israel who are called Jews. It is they who invented all important devices with God given wisdom and favour.

Cell, I phone, computer, I pad... name any it's invented by Jews.....

Decision Making - 5. Decisions - Lead Us To House Of Bread - Joy Peace And Security Or House of Destruction - Sorrow Misery And Insecurity.

Ruth 1- 4 chapters.

Gen. 12th chapter.

Why I had been sharing on this topic for the last few days is -

we make literally hundreds of decisions everyday. Some over the mundane things in life and Some over important things in life.

We have seen how a wrong and ungodly decision of Elimelech has brought ruin over his family.

How the comeback Naomi took a strong decision to return back to her hometown, Bethelehem from Moab. And how the Lord changed her bitterness to pleasantness, sorrow to joy and the curse to the greatest blessing and restoration of her life.

The comeback is much greater than staying in a defeated, dejected and depressed life. This is what Naomi did.

God knows all of our lives like another. He knows our failures. He knows our defeated lives. He knows our pain and secret pain. He knows our life's struggles, spiritual struggles.

We have learned from the decision of Abraham. He started off well and went as per the Lord's command. He worshipped the Lord at Bethel building an altar.

But, similar to the situation like Elimelech, due to famine Abraham too took a wrong ungodly decision to move away from God's place, Bethel means "House Of God" to Egypt. Egypt derived from Hebrew Word, means miisery, tribulation, distress.

We learned - Abraham distancing from God brought fear and anxious moments of insecurity in his life. Lord forced through Pharoah and has to question Abraham why he was lying to tell Sarai as sister. After all this drama He was forced to go back to Bethel, house of God.

We too sometimes take wrong decisions in life which lead us to self destruction, tasting bitterness of life, misery, distress and tribulation.

In the case of Elimelech God Almighty did not intervene and bring him back. But in the case of Abraham God intervened through Pharoah who was plagued for taking Sarai.

May be I feel the Lord sees the heart of each of us. A repentant heart who falls here and there, BUT desires to comeback He always gives that special grace.

As I said earlier and I repeat - God knows our defeats, our weaknesses, our failures, our unspoken pain, our sorrow, our grief. He desires that anyone who rises like Naomi, Ruth and Abraham He will make surely a meaningful, joyful, blessed, glorious and fulling life.

But if you still crave to be in Egypt and Moab building self centredness, and pleasures of the world, be possessive of powers and things of the world, God may not intervene as He gives us freedom. But He is gracious when you decide to return back to Bethlehem and Bethel - House of Bread 🍞 and House of God.....

Topic: Decision Making - 4. Abraham's One Wrong Decision To Move Out To Egypt From Canan Added Fear And Started Fighting Fear On His Own.

By doing so he started telling lies and made also Sarai to lie and sin. Family sins.

Decisions are the hardest move to make, especially when it's a choice between what you want and what is right.

This is what Abraham did. He chose what is wrong against God's wish.

Those who are not in the Lord firmly will often take the choice in what they want and not what is right.

If we take the life of Abraham, the father of faith, he too fumbled on few occasions.

As per the command of the Lord to Abraham in Gen. 12:01 he was asked to leave his father's house to the land which the Lord will show.

If we see verses 4 to 8, Abraham obeyed and reaches Canan. And there the Lord appeared and the promises the land of Cannan. Abraham worships the Lord and builds an altar.

As he was moving little to the south, he found there was severe famine in the land where the Lord wanted him to stay.

In 10th verse - Now there was a famine in the land and therefore Abraham instead of staying there, he went down to Egypt to dwell there.

What I understand very clearly is, as children of God having tasted His love, still we fumble to take wrong decisions and tread against the path of obedience, we will have guilt within. And the guilt will bring fear within us. And to cover all this we add few more sins to the kitty of satan. And we regret later for the first step of disobedience.

Let us see what happened when Abraham moved away

to the Land of Egypt from the place God put him.

If you read verses 11 to 20 we see as they were about to enter Egypt, he tells Sarai his wife, "I know that you are a woman of beautiful countenance. And when they come to know that you are my wife, they will kill me and let you live. So, please say you are my sister."

Guilt because of disobedience. God's Power, and His presence disappeared because of sin in Abraham's life. And panic, fear and worry gripped his heart to use such faithless words and lie. Sarai told lie to them as per the advise of her husband.

Our decisions of coverings over our sins will further add more problems to it.

We see inspite of telling lies Pharoh took Sarai to His palace till God intervened by sending great plagues to Pharoah and his house.

And Pharoah understood the scene and questions Abraham, ",Why he told Sarai as sister?" And he hands over Sarai to him.

When we take decisions to sin intentionally, initially it might look rosy, pleasurable and comfortable, but it will be soon short-lived and God teaches us time and again to take good and righteous decisions through challenges.

..... Help us Lord when we obey you, we will be guiltless and when we are guiltless, then we will not have any fear even if biggest storms and trials come across in our lives....

Topic: Decision Making-3. The Most Noblest, Sacrificial, Costliest And Godly Decision Of Ruth.

We have heard the decisions taken by Elimelech and Naomi in the last two days. Today we are going to dwell briefly on the decision taken by Ruth, the Moabite.

As we all know the story very well, both daughters in law, Ruth and Orpah were given opportunity by Naomi to take their decision to go back to their families as Naomi decided to get back to her native place, Bethlehem.

Orpah kissed her mother in law and went back longing to be with her parents and kith and kin, probably to get married again. She might have had happy time with all of them.

We see the scene here. Naomi pursued Ruth to leave her as she is empty and literally nothing with her to give. We see here Ruth was determined, steadfast and unwavering in her decision to go with Naomi to her place, Bethlehem. It says, "But Ruth clung to Naomi." 14th verse of Ruth 1.

She very well knows it's a foreign nation, unknown people, her mother in law, Naomi is empty and bankrupt, future looks very uncertain and bleak. She took as I said the most costly, noble, sacrificial and godly decision.

May be she saw the joy and peace and praises of Naomi in which, she saw a hope in the dark. May be she seeing the life of Naomi she has come to know the God of Naomi. Another reason could be she must have heard about the nation of Israel.

Her pledge, her covenant with Naomi with conviction has become more popular and blessed to preach during engagement and wedding ceremonies and wedding anniversaries too. I too shared few times for the weddings on this 'covenant of Ruth.'

Her decision portrayed her qualities of compassion, unfailing devotion, respect, grace, honesty, integrity, generosity, virtue, honor and kindness. We can see all these traits not only in her life but in her covenant with Naomi.

Let's us reaffirm this solemn decision and covenant of Ruth. 1 Sam. 1: 16. But Ruth said to Naomi, "Entreat me not to leave you, or to turn back from following after you;

For wherever you go, I will go;

And wherever you lodge, I will lodge;

Your people shall be my people, And your God my God;

Where you will die, I will die, And there will I be buried. (As if this covenant is not enough she further says). The Lord do so to me, and more also, if anything but death parts you and me."

Without murmuring and complaining she obeyed her mother in law to glean humbly in the fields. And whatever she did in the fields she proved herself to be virtuous and was observed by the kinsman of Naomi, Boaz too. And she had the favour of 'God of Naomi' and favour of Boaz. And Boaz married Ruth. And the purpose for which she came to this land was fulfilled. And the seed of Ruth and Boaz came the royal priesthood, Jesus Christ.

Help us to not to see with our naked eye and take decisions like Orpha where the pleasures of joy are temporary and short-lived.

But help us to have godly thoughts to take Christ honoring decisions where we might go through challenges of life, as it eventually will lead to true joy, happiness, success and prosperity in the end like the lives of Naomi and Ruth....

Topic: Decision Making. Naomi's Realisation, Repentance And Returning Back To Bethlehem Has Been The Greatest Decision Of Her Life.

There is a familiar quote, "The grass is always greener on the other side."

For Elimelech and Naomi they too felt the same. They felt Moab is a better place than Bethlehem. In hardships and challenges what decisions we take, makes our destiny. If we drift away for shortcut ungodly decisions for pleasures, we are in for trouble like Naomi....

Naomi lost her husband and her two sons. But then she realised the consequences of their coming to Moab has been a wrong decision.

Naomi very well knew the Lord has dealt bitterly with her and her family. She admits and acknowledges that the Lord has afflicted her and brought her back empty to Bethlehem.

Let us read Ruth 1: 19 & 20. When Naomi and Ruth entered Bethlehem all of the city was excited because of them. And the women said, "Is this Naomi?"

And Naomi said, "Do not call me Naomi; call me Mara (means bitterness), for the Almighty has dealt very bitterly with me.

I went out full and the Lord has brought me home again empty. Why do you call me Naomi since the Almighty has testified against me and the Almighty had afflicted me?" Do not call me Naomi any more, but call me Mara for the Lord has dealt bitterly with me."

She deals with her daughter in law, Ruth who came with her to Bethlehem with love, kindness and care.

Here we see Naomi Realised the mistake, Repented, Rose and Returned back to Bethlehem.

The Lord saw the true heart of repentance of Naomi and showed His unconditional pure love. Her bitterness Mara has been removed by the Almighty and pleasantness of Naomi has been restored back.

God showed kindness and favour towards her and her daughter in law, Ruth. And God restored Naomi by blessing her with grandson from Ruth and her kinsman, Boaz. And they named him Obed. And Obed grandson is David. Jesus Christ was born through the seed of David fulfilling the prophesies of the New Testament gospels..

We too move away from Bethlehem many a times... to Moab and thus from the Divine will of God.

We may go to church regularly, pay our tithes, be active in the church work... But still we may be in the bitterness of life. God loves to remove that, provided we repent.

The day we realise and truly repent where we are going wrong intentionally, and return back, the Lord's grace favour and His blessings are then restored back to us.

Pray for those who drifted away from you falling into strongholds by taking wrong decisions in life. Give them your grace and mercy as they come back to you. For in thee we have true blessings...
