Luke 11:01. One of His disciples said to Him "Lord, teach us how to pray."

The disciple of Jesus did not ask the Lord, "teach us to preach" or "teach us to sing" but he asked for what was most important; "Lord, teach us to pray."

We must prefer a hundred times to be a prayer warrior than a great preacher. We would rather have the power of prayer to move the very powers of heaven than to have the power of preaching to move the masses of people on earth. We can train others to become great preachers and orators, but only Jesus can teach men and women to become great masters of prayer, but when we truly desire.......

Prayer is everybody's privilege. The gift of prayer is offered to all. And all of us may call upon the power of our almighty God.

Not all are called to be pastors or preachers or teachers or evangelists, but in all of us can move the power of God by prayer. God gives everyone a gift and a task, according to his ability. But no such restrictions are placed on the art of prayer. This is a universal gift for all, if we desire.

"Church is looking for better methods but God is looking for better people who can pray."

"Prayer should be the preachers' mightiest weapon."

"Prayerless words on the pulpit are deadening words."

A fruitful ministry, joyful and victorious person can only be from one who is s praying person.

Why worry when we can pray? Our daily duties won't ne a burden if we trust the Lord and let God do His part.

Topic: Our Trials And Testings Are Great Opportunities. But Too Often We Look On Them As Great Obstacles.

Job. 38:22 & 23.

God says to Job " Have you entered the Treasury of snow, or have you seen the Treasury of hail, which I have reserved for the time of trouble, For the day of the battle and war??"

As we all know Job lost all his children, and all his cattle, and and his entire body has been inflicted with painful boils.

Well this entire chapter, God reminds Job the realms and sovereignty of His creation - the stars, the moon, the light, the darkness and the seasons are under his sway and control.

Even for us, our trials are great opportunities. Too often we look on them as great obstacles. It would be a heaven of rest and an inspiration of unspeakable power, if each of us would henceforth recognise every difficult situation as one of God's chosen ways of proving to us His love and look around for the signals of His glorious manifestation.

Then indeed would every cloud become a rainbow, and every mountain a path of ascension and a glorious scene of transfiguration.

Topic: Excellence In Our Field Of Work Is Remembered By The World. In Addition Having A Good Name And Conduct Are Not Only Remembered For Long Time But High Respect Is Earned!

1 Corint. 9:24. Do you know in the race all runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it.

To sum up the verse, Apostle Paul says, "Excel in whatever you do."

Daniel, Apostle Paul, Simon Peter and deacons like Stephen and Phillip excelled in the work they did, fought a good fight and also earned a good name for themselves - being blameless without any reproach.

Other than in the christian faith, we also notice several other people with their passion to excel, became highly successful in their field of profession. And at the same time kept a good name and thereby, earned high respect for their conduct.

Several sportsmen excelled in their careers, but only few are highly respected for their conduct and sportsmanship.

Of the few in India, best examples are Sachin Tendulkar, the iconic world's gifted cricket player, and Vishwanathan Anand, world famous chess player. They are not only admired for their excellent performance in their respective sports field arena, but well respected for their on - field conduct. How true it is?! "Whoever it may be - rich and wealthy, highly statured, President or Prime Minister - respect cannot be demanded. It needs to be earned." Another perfect example, Mother Teresa. She earned a good name and world wide respect for her good and noble deeds. Irrespective of caste, creed, religion, people all over India and all over the world respect her.

On sunday, 20th June, 2021 the sports pages of all the leading newspapers in India have splashed the images and news of one great sportsman and legend Milkha Singh, named as "Flying Sikh" who breathed his last on 18th June. He is well known for his exceptional performance excelling in the "Indian Track and Field event." He was a "multiple Asian gold medalist" and won several other medals. He lost an Olympic medal by 0.1 second on Sept. 6, 1960 at Rome Olympics. How important and significant this 0.1 second in his life which eluded the olympic medal for him, while we often times do not understand the value of time. Milka Singh, "The Flying Sikh" not only excelled in his field of sports, but most importantly has earned a good name for his impeccable and examplary life. Glowing tributes have been paid from the leaders of the nation and several sports fraternity all over the nation.

God is no respector of persons. Be it sports, studies or career! Anyone who has a vision, focused goal, strong desire, determination and discipline can excel. The world remembers people more of those who not only excel in their fields but who be the true ambassadors of the nation...

Holy thoughts in our life transfigure the life. Our daily thoughts build up our character. Our hearts are the quarries where the blocks are fashioned which we build into our life temple. If our thoughts and meditations are good, beautiful, true, pure, loving, and gentle our life will grow into Christ - likeness.

Once a professor observed a young beautiful student, Evangeline joining the university. Professor says as this beautiful young girl passed from one academic year to another and to another level in the university, this girl character ripened into a rare beauty - one of the loveliest and sweetest life ever bloomed on the campus. Everyone in the campus loved her not only for her beautiful looks but for her sweetest and beautiful life she portrayed from within.

Her inner beauty fashioned her more beautiful to the eyes than her external good looks. And she became the household name in the campus.

She always wore a small locket which she never allowed anyone to see inside what it contained. One day, however, in a time of dangerous illness, on the request of her friend, she permitted her to open the locket and look within it, and there she saw the words, "Whom having not seen I love and live for." It was then known to the whole campus, the secret of this lovely child's transfiguration of character- loving the unseen Christ.

The transfigured life of this beautiful young girl caught up everyone and prayed for her. But, God otherwise had another plan for her. She went to be with the Lord. But her life lived on .. in the hearts of the students and the professors. Many turned to Christ because of one beautiful flower, Evangeline - pleasant to look on the outer and beautiful to behold her inner beauty.

Rom. 08:37. Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

To conquer means "to defeat; to beat; to trounce; to annihilate; to be victorious; to overcome; to overpower; to subdue; to crush.

But to be more than conquerors means, we not only have victory over satan and it's demonic powers, but we will overhelmingly be victorious because of the risen power of Christ within us.

Let us see one instance on the life of Simon Peter. As long as Peter trusted on the Word of Jesus Christ, he successfully walked on the water. He is the only human being who walked on the water. Many greats in the past decades including people of different faiths tried to emulate this feat but failed. Peter was able walk on water because he walked on the Word of Christ. But, as long as his eyes were fixed on Christ he was able to walk on water.

"Faith produces brightest moments in darkest hours." And "Doubt creates darkest moments even in finest hours."
