This week I had the opportunity to sit and chat with one of the emerging voices in the health and wellness space, Holly Cotton (@HollyCotton_)
Holly is the definition of GRINDING. She's a best-selling author, media personality, RN, Life Coach, and breast cancer survivor! I had the privilege of watching her ascend into the spotlight over the last few years, so it was only right that I brought this phenomenal woman on the VXG Experience so she could breakdown how she got started, the steps she's taken to blow up her brand, and the vision behind the grind that is impacting so many lives.
Holly talks about her upbringing, as well as how she was able to become a published author during the pandemic, the origins of her brand Strong Squad, and the mindset she has developed to make her such a powerful and highly sought after personality.
There are so many gems in this episode, you might have to whip out a pen and pad and listen to it twice!

No matter how hard you train, if you’re not handling business OUTSIDE of the gym you won’t see the results you want to see.
Whether you have a specific performance or aesthetic goal, or you just want to get in better shape and improve your overall health, what you do throughout the day is just as important as what you do in the gym.
In this episode I break down the NON GYM FACTORS that will make or break your fitness journey.

Continuing the Interview Series, this week I had a chance to chat with former athlete turned leadership coach Jimmy Carter (@Ingrained2Train)
I’ve personally watched Jimmy ascend over the years and it was great to have the opportunity to hear his story.
Jimmy talks about his upbringing in Southside Chicago, how he discovered fitness as a career and was able to train high level athletes, many of which currently play in the NFL, and why he’s made the transition from fitness to leadership coaching.
We also got really in depth about masculinity and how a man operates in a successful relationship.
This was an amazing conversation with so many gems.
Listen and share this episode with someone who you know will get value from it.

Unpopular opinion (apparently):
Having a fitness goal around how your body looks is totally fine.
Once upon a time people did literally anything to achieve the body they wanted, to the point of harming themselves physically and psychologically, and this was the norm.
In response to this, the fitness industry shifted its focus as a whole from aesthetic to holistic, making overall health the priority.
This is a GREAT thing.
But somewhere along the way, the narrative transformed. It went from promoting health and wellness to shaming people for having what many consider “vain goals” such as wanting to look a particular way.
In this episode, I wanted to offer a different perspective.
Having worked with hundreds of clients over the last decade of being a fitness professional, I’ve come to the understanding that having goals around an aesthetic can be perfectly fine if pursued in a healthy manner.
I offer an alternative take on these types of goals that may change the way you view them while giving you permission to seek out what makes you happy.

This might be the single most important episode you hear all year!
I’m sure on a daily basis, at any given moment, you are getting BOMBARDED with posts and videos from different content creators in the fitness space.
Everywhere you look

Youtube
It feels like everyone is some kind of fitness influencer at this point
And look, I’m actually all for the world waking up and embracing fitness like it is
But what I’m not into is this wave of misinformation and deceit
Unfortunately, the fitness industry isn’t regulated so anyone with a camera and a social media account can start posting information and even begin soliciting business
As a consumer, especially a consumer who is actively trying to improve their health, I want you to be armed with discernment.
That’s why today I am going to show you exactly how to weed through the bullshit so you can lock in on the information that matters and see results without the mountain of nonsense most fitness influencers are dishing out
In this week’s episode of the VXG Podcast, I dive even deeper into this topic while also giving some practical examples of each and how to effectively navigate through it all
