Welcome to Vista: Unified, the podcast spotlighting the people, programs, and possibilities of the Vista Unified School District.
Vista Unified has been hard at work at schools across the district making facility upgrades and improvements. These projects are part of Measure LL, a $247 million bond initiative approved by the voters in Vista in November 2018 “to repair, upgrade, equip classrooms, science labs, local school facilities supporting college readiness, career preparation, math, science, engineering, technology, skilled trades; repair aging classrooms/schools including deteriorating roofs, plumbing, and electrical; improve student safety/school security.”
This work includes everything from new structures like multi-story buildings at Vista High School to unseen, but very much needed, infrastructure updates to vital systems like plumbing and physical plants.
Joining Dr. Doyle on this episode are a variety of voices from Vista Unified, including school principals from California Ave, Casita, Vista Magnet Middle School, and Vista High School. In addition, students at some of the sites where construction has occurred share what the improvements mean to them and affect their experiences at school.
Vista: Unified is a production of the Vista Unified School District in cooperation with A Different Day Radio, a local business in our outstanding community of Vista, California. Our theme music was composed and recorded by Carter Bergman, a student in the class of 2027 at Mission Vista High School.
