Michael McLaren spoke with Tony Wood, whose daughter Anna died after ingesting ecstasy. Tony gave his thoughts on pill testing, Australia's drug epidemic and his appearance on Monday night's Q and A on the ABC, which he believes was not a balanced debate.

Michael McLaren caught up with Channel 9's political editor Chris Uhlmann about his story in the Sydney Morning Herald.

Vic Alhadeff , CEO of the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies joins Michael to discuss the disturbing rise of anti-Semitism in the west.

It’s horrifying that there has been a the rise globally of attacks directed  at Jews for no other reason than they are Jews. 

Perhaps ignorance drives a lot of this, but it was reported last year that two thirds of American millennials couldn’t identify what Auschwitz was… 22% haven’t even heard of the Holocaust…  and 5% of British adults don’t even believe the Holocaust took place.

It was reported yesterday that the Queensland branch of the CFMEU is poised to demand Bill Shorten’s Labor candidates across the state pledge support for the coal mining industry or face the wrath of the union at the upcoming federal election.  And that support should include Adani Mining's Carmichael coal mine.

Stephen Smythe, CFMEU District President – Mackay tells Michael the coal pledge would leave no “grey area” for MPs to support the Palaszczuk government’s approach to Adani.

Michael is joined by Niall Blair, NSW Minister for Primary Industries & Deputy Leader of The Nationals to discuss yesterday’s press release from Australian Dairy Farmers announcing their recent victory.

Supermarket giant Woolworths has bowed to dairy farmer pressure and will raise the price of house brand milk from $1 to 1.10 per litre in all stores nationwide… also selling two and three-litre varieties of their band fresh milk for $2.20 and $3.30 respectively.

Woolies have promised every cent of the increase will end up with Australian dairy farmers which is great news for an industry that’s been suffering the effects of $1 milk for the last eight years.

Michael is joined by the Herald’s Southeast Asia correspondent James Massola who wrote in the Herald last week with Michael Bachelard quoting a former people smuggler who now lives in Pakistan who has been asked by his former bosses to return to Indonesia and in the event of a Shorten Government Labor government to “test the metal of the new regime”.

For his part, Bill Shorten continues to talk about a ring of steel around Australia should he form government but with his desire to win temporary visas are now the Medivac laws the ring of steel is looking more like it’s made of tin.
