This episode is, shockingly, mostly about water—how much we need it, how often we forget that, and why it matters more than we’d like to admit.
Somewhere in the conversation we also end up drafting a very unofficial Mt Rushmore of celebrity colonial ship crew to honor one full year of Naughty Nation! Think: long voyages, limited resources, and the importance of having the right people on deck when things get real.
Hydration is discussed. History is revised. No actual sailing required.

Members Episode: Traveling in Real Time
Instead of a single, sit-down conversation, this one is made up of voice memos recorded in real time—back to back, across multiple days—while traveling. Some were recorded in the car. Some in quiet moments. Some mid-thought. All of them exactly as they happened.
If you’re listening as a member, you’re essentially walking through the trip alongside me, day by day.
If you’ve ever wanted to know what it sounds like inside someone’s head while life is actively happening, this episode is that. 🤣

Brooke got invited on a last-minute week in Florida… and somehow the answer was just: yes. In this no-notes hang, we talk spontaneous trips on a real-life budget, Daisy’s big emotions (and the surprisingly helpful insight underneath them), and TJ’s winter struggle to get out of bed—plus the weird little device he’s trying to fix it. Also: airplane snack drafts, snowblower angels, and why travel turns Brooke into a sandwich person.
If you’re craving something settled, sustainable, and realistic, this conversation will help you name it.

After a couple of information-heavy members episodes, today’s conversation is intentionally more practical.
We’re sharing how we’ve actually learned to eat more protein in our own lives—and what that looks like in a real house with real kids. Not what you should do. Just what we do, and why.
In this episode, we give you four ways on how to add more protein into your life.

Most families aren’t held together by big systems or perfect routines—they’re carried by a handful of quiet, steady rhythms doing the heavy lifting.
In this episode, we talk about how to identify the rhythms that keep a family functioning when energy drops, motivation fades, or attention is focused elsewhere. We explore decision fatigue, load-bearing habits, floors versus ceilings, and how to strengthen what’s already working—without reinventing your life.

In this members-only episode, we keep building on last week’s conversation — this is “THE blood sugar” episode.
We talk through blood sugar and insulin in plain language: what they are, how they function, and why so many of us feel stuck in cycles of cravings, crashes, and frustration even when we’re “eating healthy.” We unpack why the body doesn’t care where sugar comes from, how modern foods (including fruit and starches) can demand a strong insulin response, and what repeated spikes do over time.
This isn’t an anti-food episode or a call to perfection. It’s about awareness, stewardship, and understanding the system God designed — so your choices come from clarity, not confusion.

For some reason, our podcast host is having issue with video files so if you want video, go to youtube.
Most of life isn’t the beginning or the big finish—it’s the long, regular middle. In this episode, we talk about why the middle feels extra exhausting right now (hello, montage culture), how “instant everything” trains us to expect quick results, and why that quietly makes real life feel like we’re doing it wrong. We also get honest about what happens when you start believing the middle is a problem to solve… and what changes when you realize it’s actually a place to live faithfully.
Plus: the Great Pizza Price Uprising of 2026, a Mount Rushmore pizza draft, and a suspiciously strong desire to swim in the reflecting pool for the right price.

In this members-only episode, we unpack why snacking has nothing to do with willpower or calories—and everything to do with how God actually made our bodies. We talk about fed mode vs. repair mode, why “just a little something” keeps your system from finishing its job, and the simple metaphor that completely changed how we think about eating between meals. This isn’t a list of rules—it’s a reframe that brings clarity, freedom, and a lot more kindness toward your body so you can start seeing how you eat as an act of stewardship, and even worship.

Every year we tell ourselves this will be a simple recap episode.

Every year… we’re wrong.
What starts as “let’s look back” quietly becomes something else entirely—less highlight reel, more meaning-making. In this episode, we’re not naming the best things of 2025. We’re naming the things that stayed. The shows that lived in our house. The music playing in the background of real life. The moments that shaped us, whether we planned for them or not.
We talk about the TV shows that surprised us, comforted us, or kept us up too late. The music that soundtracked ordinary days and emotional moments. The movies we’re still referencing without even realizing it.
Then we get to our anchor segment: our Mount Rushmore of 2025. Not the biggest things. The defining things. Four moments and shifts that formed the year—some joyful, some heavy, all honest.
From there, we zoom out. One word for the year. One sentence that sums it up. One thing that ended. One thing that quietly began. We share the biggest lessons we learned—some the hard way, some by finally stopping the fight—and what surprised us most about ourselves, our kids, our marriage, and our capacity.
And as always, we close slowly. With gratitude. With honesty. With permission for end-of-year feelings to be complicated.
If you’re feeling tender, tired, relieved, proud, disappointed—or all of it at once—this episode is for you.
Thanks for being here. Thanks for listening. Thanks for being part of this year with us.
2026… here we come.
