“Christ has made the way for us, now we just have to step into the glory of what He’s accomplished for us.” - Katie Souza
Walking in total freedom means tearing down any altars that have been built within us that might allow the enemy to have a foothold in our lives. This is specifically evident in places where trauma and bitterness have taken root within us. Without knowing it, we may have given space for witches, warlocks, and the occult to operate and curse us. In this episode, Liz talks with Katie Sousa, television host, international bestselling author, and founder of Expected End Ministries. Katie, who has walked thousands of people into freedom from the altars built in their lives shares where in the Word we witness this foothold in action and what Christ has called us to in allowing the work of the Cross to wash us clean and rightly judge and remove the places that keep us from His freedom.
Two specific types of altars often built in our lives are done so out of trauma or bitterness. In fact, they often flow into one another—unresolved trauma erects an altar of bitterness, and invites the spirit of witchcraft in. We let ourselves become and remain wounded, then we attend to the altar through discussing it over and over, or withholding bringing it to the Lord for the journey of forgiveness. But this is not what Christ intended for us! We have to start judging the altars of trauma, the altars of bitterness in our lives, taking our place in the courts of heaven not as defendants or as prosecutors, but as judges according to Chris to what’s going on within us. We need to repent, receive the blood of Christ, and embrace the cleansing fire of God. If we turn our focus on our union with Christ, and let Him flow out, rivers of living water will flow out, and flow into the places we have trauma stored in our minds, our emotions, or even in our physical bodies.
As we close out our time, Katie walks us through a prayer of repentance, and invites the Lord’s presence closer, calling us to break agreement with any trauma or bitterness that has taken root. As you listen, repent, and receive, we pray that you will walk in a greater measure of wholeness and union with Christ, allowing the rivers of living water to flow freely in and through you.
