Returning guest Eric Gilmour, founder of Sonship International, speaks with Liz about the profound truth of this reality. It is a privilege and an honor to know the heart of Jesus and to be known by Him. Many people have a difficult time abiding in the Holy Spirit when they’re going through a difficult time, but the truth is that we can choose to be aware of the presence of God no matter what circumstances we find ourselves in. The key is to simply become aware that we are already one with the Spirit. Through both awareness and attention, we are then able to hone our perception and sensitivity to His presence, ultimately leading us to fully experience His presence. 

These three components (awareness, attention, and experience) will transform your life. They are what protect our connection to the Spirit and allow us to continue to walk in His ways. Jesus so deeply longs to be known by us in this way; so much so that He became one of us in order to be as we are, to feel as we feel, to experience pain as we do, and to feel the limits of humanity as we do. This incredible truth just demonstrates the beauty, passion, and power of His love for us. He wants to be known by us through both His sovereignty and His humanity, which is the New Covenant-reality that we have the privilege of being a part of. 

No matter what you are facing in your life, there is a holy invitation available for you to discover the heart of Jesus to an even greater depth—to usher in His presence and to walk in perfect union with His Spirit in your day-to-day life. To be ever-present to the realities of the Kingdom set before us. To increase your awareness of His Spirit that is available in you and through you. This is your invitation to sit back in His presence and to fall in love with His beauty—to discover just how worthy He really is. No matter what difficulties or pressures you’re experiencing in life, turn your attention to Him. Keep your eyes fixed on His beauty. Everything else will simply fade away.
