Walking with Jesus with Pastor Doug Anderson Podcast

Growth in any organization or endeavor is usually a wonderful thing, right? But usually growth brings challenges. Did you know that happens even when God is at work and a spiritual movement is growing rapidly? I’m sure we all understand those growth challenges can provide fertile ground for the dark kingdom to disrupt what God is doing and breed discord, division and even conflict among God’s people who are excited about the movement’s growth. (Click here to see full text, images and links)Or  copy and go to this link: https://walkingwithjesus.ddawj-365.com/thursday-29-april-2021-problem-solving/     Today’s Scripture is Acts 6:1-7. Choose below to read or listen.Pastor Doug Anderson    262.441.8785  “Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, with our eyes fixed on Jesus…” (Heb. 12:1,2)Have a comment or question about today’s chapter? I’m ready to hear from you, contact me here.

What’s the greatest pain, physically you’ve ever experienced? A broken limb, a kidney stone, birthing a child naturally? And what is the deepest pain you’ve ever experienced emotionally? Rejection by your family, discovering your spouse is having an affair, finding your business partner is stealing company resources? Now what happens when you put those two extreme pains together? I think that’s a small perspective of what Jesus experienced as He went to the cross… extreme physical and extreme emotional pain. To some degree Jesus’ closest friends, the apostles, are about to experience a similar combination of extreme emotional and physical pain, as judgement is proclaimed and executed upon them.(Click here to see full text, images and links)Or  copy and go to this link: https://walkingwithjesus.ddawj-365.com/wednesday-28-april-2021-flogged/  https://witnesstoall.com/ Today’s Scripture is Acts 5:38-42.

I wonder what it looks like in your city when a spiritual movement begins to gain traction? In the past it happened with a men’s movement called “Promise Keepers” in many cities in America. It happened in a student movement called “Passion” some years ago. It has happened many times in great cities around the world with huge evangelism crusades or city wide prayer movements. But in most parts of the world,  it’s been a while, hasn’t it? (Click here to see full text, images and links)Or  copy and go to this link: https://walkingwithjesus.ddawj-365.com/tuesday-27-april-2021-holy-confrontation/   Today’s Scripture is Acts 5:24-39.

I wonder if you’ve ever ridden a ‘wild and crazy’ roller coaster at an amusement park? The ones built years ago were tame compared to the ones designed today which often include upside down riding, very fast and steep drops turning almost violently into hard corners and then into dark tunnels. When finally the ride comes to a stop, riders often sit for a few seconds trying to breathe normally again, lower their pulse rate, and regain their equilibrium so they can stand and walk normally. (Click here to see full text, images and links)Or  copy and go to this link: https://walkingwithjesus.ddawj-365.com/monday-26-april-2021-roller-coaster/   Today’s Scripture is Acts 5:12-26.

As you look around your part of the world, do you see widespread evidence of the great moral battle for the soul of your city, your nation and our world? Do you see it in corrupt leadership in every segment of society? Do you see it in failed judicial and prison systems as millions of people are incarcerated with the intention of changing their wicked hearts, but crime rates keep climbing? Do you see it in the global pandemic of abortion of the unborn as well as child abuse, child slavery and even child sex trafficking? Oh we don’t need to look very far to see evidence of the moral and spiritual battle for our souls, our families, our communities, our cities, our nations, our world, do we?(Click here to see full text, images and links)Or  copy and go to this link: https://walkingwithjesus.ddawj-365.com/weekend-edition-24-25-april-2021infiltrate-danger/   Oh my friends, here’s a song from New Zealand reflecting the people of God all around the world… be blessed my friends, oh be blessed!! I wonder if after watching only a few minutes of the daily news, no matter where you live in the world, you shake your head and wonder if there’s any safe place to live, any wise political leadership who lead with integrity anywhere in the world? Or is there anyplace in our crazy, selfish, greedy, angry, violent world where there might be a group of people who live in peace and generosity, loving and caring for each other?  May I invite you to join with me in such a place today. It happened in the city of Jerusalem about 2000 years ago and we have a detailed account for us in Acts 4 in the Bible.(Click here to see full text, images and links)Or  copy and go to this link: https://walkingwithjesus.ddawj-365.com/friday-23-april-2021-greater-things/   Today’s Scripture is Acts 4:32-36.

It’s good to celebrate when things turn out right, when good wins over evil, especially when it brings glory to God for all to see, do you agree? We don’t hear much news like that these days from anywhere in our world, so let me invite you to join me in one of those experiences as we continue following the events in Jerusalem in the weeks after Jesus’ resurrection and ascension back to heaven. In these recent days we’ve been introduced to something called “cancel culture”, in many parts of the world. It’s the efforts of one group of people to intimidate and even silence another group of people, effectively cancelling their voice and their influence in society! In years past it was accomplished by thugs in the alleys or by gangs or by ‘cartels’, always with brute force. Sometimes it was political parties or hired guns or powerful labor unions. In recent years social media and peer pressure has been the weapon, attacking individuals or groups of people effectively silencing them. Join me please in Acts 4 as we see a ‘cancel culture’ attempt aimed at the closest friends of Jesus! (Click here to see full text, images and links)Or  copy and go to this link: https://walkingwithjesus.ddawj-365.com/wednesday-21-april-2021-cancel-culture/   Today’s Scripture is Acts 4:1-22.
