We start this episode with a dive into the lore of Hashut (Ha-Shoot) and his role within Chaos Dwarf society. We then return to our trudge through their factional history. We rejoin the story with the Runesmiths finally being conquered by the newly empowered Sorcerer-Priests, but after months of fighting they were enslaved and sacrificed to Hashut, marking the birth of the Chaos Dwarfs. We discuss the Sorcerer-Priests raising Zharr-Naggrund, enslaving greenskins and humans, and triggering a great Orc, Goblin, and human migrations westward, weakening Karaz Ankor while concealing their own survival. Skaven also emerged, becoming a new source of slaves for the Chaos Dwarfs, who thrived on trade and exploitation. We close out with the most dangerous creation of the Chaos Dwarf, the Black Orcs, who eventually lead a massive revolt

In this episode we turn to the history of the Chorfs in some detail. We start with the tale of the inventor of the Whirlwind and Tenderiser warmachines and his rearing of Boar Centaurs. We discuss the lack of solid lore for the faction before diving into an apocryphal work from the 1st edition of WFRP. We look at the history of the Dwarfs of the Dark lands before Chaos came, the Dark Lands were fertile, roamed by Orcs, Goblins, and Hobgoblins. We describe the impact of the Warpgates collapse as the Dwarfs sealed themselves underground, seemingly betrayed by their own kin from the west. Now trapped beneath impenetrable rock they search for a route back to the surface, they uncover an obsidian gallery and a sealed door inscribed with arcane glyphs. The seals are broken by a Rune Lord, unleashing Hashut, Father of Darkness with hilarious consequences. We close out the episode with Hashut blessing his followers, and twisting their enemies into monstrous servants.

In our first Chaos Dwarf episode we take a look at the 3 flavours of chaos dwarfs that have graced The Dark Lands and have plagued the warhammer worldWe take a look at their evolution as a faction from the ‘Chaos Warrior’ Dwarfs of 3rd edition to the Babylonian aesthetic of 4th edition to the almost uruk-hai industrial warriors of 8th edition. And of course we discussed the startlingly large hats! We then take a bit of a tour around the Dark Lands as we take in the sights and sounds of Zorn Uzkul. Making our way down the River of Ruin to the slave pens and factories of Zharr-Naggrund we cover the blasted wastes and deserts around the dreaded City, home to the nomadic Hobgoblins before looking at the realms of the Black Tower, the militaristic settlement that controls much of the southern Dark Lands.

In our final Bretonnian episode we take a look at the tabletop forces of the land of the Lady. We start with the 3rd edition army list which focused on replicating the real-world forces of medieval France. With the advent of 5th edition we start to see the “refined” list of Bretonnian troops and we launch into the ignoble and not so ignoble infantry the faction can field from Grail pilgrims to men-at-arms together with the newly-minted foot knights. We then turn our gaze to the mighty cavalry units and their unique land formation. Pausing briefly to once again mock the lance as a reliable weapon we then turn our faces to the skies to see the Pegasus Knights. Stepping around the field trebuchets we then run down the characters and named characters available to lead the army. We close out the episode with the gift of bretonnian titles from ol’ Louie Lionheart himself.

In our penultimate Bretonnian episode, we look at the Royal heroes of the kingdom, beginning with the king. We follow the journey or Leuon Leoncouer from his early quests and combats to his “failed” grail quest and his efforts to kill a necromancer and his brief sojourn into the divine court of the Lady of the Lake herself. After drinking a suspiciously yellow liquid from the Lady’s hands he mercs the necromancer and, as a grail Knight, he secures his ascension to the throne. We have a brief examination of The Green Knight, mystical champion of the Lady with a quite familiar battle style. We close out the episode with the Black Knight, Mallobaude of Mousillon, a disenchanted grail knight and bastard son of the King, who may know the truth behind the kingdom he swore to defend.

In this episode we turn our attention to the dark reflection of Bretonnian nobility, not chaos but the forces of Undeath!. We return to the tale of Merovech d'Mousillon who has risen from his mausoleum  to find it ruled by a Varghulf. We track his progress as he seeks out worthy companions and ultimately sets the brothers Garamont against each other and seals not only his fate but that of a renewed Bretonnia. We then take a look at the tale of the Red Duke. Picking up from the tail end of the crusade against Araby we find the Duke betrayed by his own dukedom of Aquitaine. He returns home after the vampire blood in his veins erases the poison of his betrayal. Finding his Wife dead and his throne usurped. He wages a blood thirsty war to retake his right but is imprisoned… with hilarious consequences.

We start with a mysterious mystery of the Herrimaults (Eh-ree-Mau) which Cral gets straight away and Dar loses his temper. We explore what it takes to become a Hairy-Mole and what their day to day life is like, their relations with other peasants and their local nobility their Leaders are desperate to hold to account. We turn to the tale of perhaps the most famous of their number, Bertrand the Brigand of Bergerac, and how he is not a total rip off of Robin Hood. We close out the episode by looking at the other extreme of the peasant/noble interaction. The Fanatics that are the raucous murderous Grail Pilgrims, Serf’s who worship Grail Knights to the point that they may kill them and wear their trappings and bones to bring the favour of the Lady.

We start this episode, eventually, with the return of the Skaven and the devastation the Red Pox has on the peasants and nobles alike. We turn our attention to the Affair of the False Grail and what exactly can go wrong when you claim to be a king, The Siege of Couronne sees the first strong alliance between the Bretonnians and the Elves of Ulthuan. The Dark elves take umbrage at this, attacking first at the command of the Witch King and a second time, The Crusade of Blood, when the witch Elves cut through Bretonnia and their way south. We close out the episode with a look at The Year of Woe where The forces of Tzeentch try their best to claim the treasures of Gille and the Grail Companions from the very founding of the country.
