If the world is billions of years old, as most people believe, then humans are latecomers to the planet. But Jesus said people, “male and female”, were present “from the beginning of creation” (Mark 10:6). Quoting from Genesis, Jesus endorsed the view that there was a short burst of supernatural creative activity in the beginning (over six days) that brought everything into existence and culminated in the creation of Adam and Eve. Jesus’ words are contrary to the idea that the Creator took eons to bring about mankind. For Christians who claim to follow Christ, do we believe what He said?
