Kristian is a linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens. He is from Iola, Wisconsin and played for the Hawkeyes in '16-'19. He found early playing time as an athletic special teamer and played in over 40 games in the Black and Gold. In his Junior and Senior seasons he started at Middle Linebacker for Iowa teams that finished 9-4 and 10-3 including 2 Bowl victories over Mississippi St. and USC. We sat down with Kristian to talk his journey to Iowa City, Coach Seth Wallace, learning behind guys like Josey Jewell, Bo Bower, and Ben Niemann, being denied a Pro Day and entering the league during Covid, being on a team with Lamar Jackson and other elite NFL players, and more. The mindset of being 'overlooked' is present throughout his story and it was awesome to pick his brain on how he approaches being a fringe guy that works his ass off to make it.

We also discuss Luka being the consensus player of the year, Gonzaga v Baylor, and The Masters... you could say this is an episode unlike any other.

On this episode we split the show into 2 topics. The first is Iowa wrestling, and with the help of Alex, we get a true, fact based, first hand account, breakdown of the National title for the Hawkeyes, if they underperformed, the mindset of wrestlers in the Iowa program, do they ever enjoy their wins? and more. THEN we move on to a tweet from Jake Gervase that compared the wrestling vs basketball team approaches to their postseason hinting at correlative results.. or did he? What did he really mean with the tweet, and does it bring up a bigger issue that has some validity? All of that plus Drake opening the podcast with "Im horny".

Chauncey hails from Detroit, Michigan and actually played alongside Cedrick Lattimore in High School, the same school that former Hawkeye Great Desmond King attended, AND right down the road from where Alaric Jackson is from. Chauncey discusses his transition into being a D1 student athlete and what Iowa City and Hawkeye life was all about. He describes the relationships he built inside the program both with players and coaches and how those were something to lean on throughout his career, especially when the turmoil of last summer hit the program. Tristan joins the 2 time guest short list from his recently purchased home in Tampa, Florida. We had Tristan on for Episode 84 in January of 2020 as he was preparing for the combine and NFL Draft, and it has been a wild 13 months in his life since. In that time he was drafted 13th overall to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who 1 month previous became the destination for Tom Brady. He battled through the oddity that was Covid protocol and figuring out the NFL as a rookie in 2020. Became the starting right tackle for the Bucs, who obviously made their run to World Champions just over a month ago. We talk Brady, TB12, diet, buffalo wild wings, training, figuring out Tampa, Coach Polasek and Coach Ferentz, the army of D linemen he faced in his first year, being snubbed, Luka Garza, He gives his opinion on Spencer Lee vs the Walkons on the mat, we talk having millions of dollars, death row meal, and a whole lot more.
