Dalles is from Palo, Iowa just northwest of Cedar Rapids. Like many Iowa football players, Coach Reese Morgan was the recruiting connection from high school to the next level, and after Coach recognized Dalles while recruiting fellow Hawkeye Shaun Beyer, Dalles turned down multiple next level track and field opportunities to walk on and play football for the Hawkeyes. Dalles talks about living his dream in the black and gold, fighting through a crazy off season that was 2020, and relives his favorite memories as a hawk. Dalles became a viral sensation with his singing ability as well in the summer of 2019 when his original song 'We Wave', a piece about the Iowa childrens hospital and waving tradition, blew up on facebook. The video has totaled over a million views and sent Dalles into a new path that he is continuing post athlete career. We discuss all of this and more.

Dom's name started blowing up the internet in Week 17 of the NFL season this past year. A few short months after the Packers signed him to their practice squad in October, Dom found himself wide open, with a ball thrown by Aaron Rodgers coming his way. A few seconds later he was celebrating his first NFL touchdown, on his 2nd NFL catch, after one of the most unlikely paths into the League. Dom talks about that process, one that saw multiple college stops along the way, and one that was never easy but for him was the "only option". One of those collegiate pitstops was Iowa City, where Dom was a Hawkeye for more than 2 years. He talks about what he learned playing for Iowa and how it helped prepare him for the NFL. We also discuss staying in shape during COVID lockdown, gaining weight and switching positions, what his approach to diet is as a pro athlete, and what it felt like to sign his first contract.

Cole played football for Millard North High School in Omaha, Nebraska before traveling East to play football for the Hawks in 2011. After redshirting in his first year, Cole saw action on special teams in '12, '13, and '14 but could never breakthrough to a serious role on the Defense. That is, until his senior year which happened to be the magical 2015 perfect season run. A regular season that was capped off with a win in Lincoln, Nebraska, the team that Cole has family ties to, was an hour down the road, and grew up dreaming about playing for. We talk all about the 'Student Athlete' Dynamic and how he approached that, how it affected his effort on both ends, and how he processes that time in his life now.

Today we caught up with Brandon Bishop, who came to Iowa City in 2014 from Sugar Grove, Illinois. Brandon is one of the best people you could ever meet and throughout the episode those layers start to peel back. He was known as the effort guy on scout team and took pride in his role to get the First team Defense ready for the gameday opponents. He excelled in this role earning Team Leader Award 2 years in a row. We talk about all of this plus the moment he figured out he wasn't a D1 talent, how he approached his role in the program, the mental health of living the student athlete lifestyle, how Coach Ferentz and Coach Doyle were pillars every step of the way, and a crazy tragic story that Kluver and Bishop were a part of in 2015.
