It’s been two months since our last Quick Take (we forgot and also had a lot of movie content), BUT we’re back with a new Quick Take episode! Listen to us catch each other up on life, how “post-pandemic” feels, music and movies we’ve been enjoying, along with the upcoming movies we’re excited for. As productions and film releases go back to normal, we finally get our first Marvel movie after two years from the most recent Spiderman and that movie is Black Widow. We go into depth about the actual timeline this movie was released, was it too little too late? Was this something that would’ve benefited from being released way sooner? Along with that, we dive deep into our problems and what we want to see with superhero movies. Lastly, we talk about our girl, Florence Pugh and her potential future with the MCU.

Our favorite film distribution and production company is back with a brand new and unique film; Zola. Zola has the unique premise of being a film based on an eventful Twitter thread. We talk about its unique and artistic direction, from the sound design to cinematography. We also go into depth about this idea of using social media platforms as a tool for storytelling & content in the future for Hollywood films. Will using social media posts as a source for material be the future of Hollywood films?

On today’s episode we talk about the sequel to John Krasinski’s horror film, A Quiet Place 2. We go into depth on how this sequel pans out, did it live up to the hype or did it succumb to sequel syndrome? We also talk about the typical horror movie tropes that this film fell into and we talk about the future of the A Quiet Place Franchise (not to mention some film ideas, John Krasinski we’re waiting for your call.)
