This week we’re going spelunking with ghouls and cookies and then we’ll be wrestling in a yurt. Or something like that. Dreia has the worst story this week and will be telling us the tale of John Edward Jones who went to explore the Nutty Putty Cave in Utah and unfortunately did not make it out. Maggie’s up next with the story of Khutulun – a Mongolian woman who refused to marry unless her betrothed could beat her in a wrestling match. We love Khutulun.

As we are sure you're aware, we are in the middle of a global pandemic. While we are sheltering in place and taking precautions to remain physically healthy, the current situation has taken a pretty big toll on our mental health and we have made the difficult decision to put the podcast on hiatus for a month.

We will be using this time to regroup, practice some much needed self-care, and to make a few changes to the show. We truly appreciate all of the love and support you have shown us throughout the past year and a half and we can't wait to come back to you all on June 16th!

Okay, so it’s supposed to be CULT WEEK and because we can’t count or do math, you’re going to get a Cult Week episode next week, instead. As a consolation, we have special guest Caroline joining us for this episode!

We are answering the important questions this week in our episode ‘A Batch of Beavers,’ such as, what is our montage song? Will it be Celine Dion’s ‘My Heart Will Go On,’ Britney Spears’ ‘Toxic,’ or the iconic ‘Do You Believe in Life After Love?’ by Cher?

We’re also talking bummers and Dreia is up first with the story of Casper Hauser. In this story, Casper is not a ghost, nor is he a prodigy doctor – but he is an abandoned 16-year-old vagabond in Nuremburg who has a penchant for horses. We’ll talk about how much he loved bread and water and how he was eventually murdered. Or was he?

After that, Maggie is hopping up on her soapbox and taking full aim at the Quiverfull (also known as Christian Patriarchy) Movement. It’s not a cult, but it is cult-y. If you’re a Duggar male, Mary Pride, or Kirk Cameron, you’d better watch out, because we are going to smash the patriarchy this week.

It’s Cult Week, y’all!

This week, we’re going to talk about Kashi Ashram (it’s like Scientology, but with yoga and no aliens) and everyone’s favorite former Seventh Day Adventist – David Koresh and the Branch Davidians!

Maggie is up first and she’s going to tell Dreia (and you) all about the crazy abuses that happened in Kashi Ashram while Ma Jaya (aka Joyce Green) was in charge. After that, Dreia will regale you with the silly antics of those Branch Davidians with a fun twist that no one saw coming.

If you listen closely, you’ll hear our special guest star – Maggie’s mom!

This week, Dreia is up first and she's got a spooky story about the inexplicably haunted Willard Library. Don't let the Lady in the Grey fool you - just because she's playful, she and her friend the Shadow Man mean business. Borrow books from the Willard Library at your own risk - and try to avoid the men's bathroom and wearing earrings.

After being thoroughly spooked, Maggie is going to take you back to 1697 and the time period after King William's War where everything is shit in Haverhill, MA. Hannah Duston is the little known controversial 'hero' from colonial times and is the first woman ever to be memorialized in stone. Hold onto your shoes and buckles, because this is a trip.

We've got two more bummers for you this week! First up, Maggie tells the story of Dorian Corey and her closet full of skeletons (well, actually, just one skeleton). Corey was a drag queen that was prominent in NYC Ball Culture in the 70s, 80s, and early 90s and she had a dark past that no one really knew about until after her death. After that, Dreia decides to ruin Maggie's night by telling the story of Robert the Doll. Robert's malicious and paranormal behavior should not be taken lightly and many have faced serious consequences if they insult Robert or not take him seriously. We had a ton of fun with this episode and we really hope you love it!

After Boy in the Box, Maggie travels to Russia in the 1950s to tell the story of the Dyatlov Pass Incident. We think the Yeti is probably to blame for all the trouble.
