  • WTC 127: Kickstart This – Muskoka
A few months ago Steven Charles Rosia joined in the annual Comic Creator Summit. We could tell this was a driven creator who would be moving quickly.
So it was no surprise when Steven told us he was launching a Kickstarter for his next project, the horror comic Muskoka.
“The discovery of a new tribe of people sparks a field study that is doomed before it has even begun.”
Keith and Chris sit down with Steven to talk about his earlier projects, Muskoka, running his first Kickstarter, and, of course, some general comic talk.
    From Steven:
I love monsters. Something about the design. Something about the character of a thing that is not supposed to exist. Whether malevolent, kindly, or misunderstood. Brooding, scary, goofy, or bizarre.
What’s odd is how something so unnatural can come so naturally. Is it a subconscious obsession to be afraid? To see faces in the dark when there are none to be seen. To pluck a figure out of your peripheral vision and think the worst.
You can support Steven’s Kickstarter until March 18, 2015 by following this link.

  • We Talk Comics #124: Predicting 2015, Nostradamus 3
Predictions folks. Just like Nostradamus did.
Let’s face it, he is evidence it’s not likely any of them will ever come true. Still, one of the WTC traditions is for Keith, Chris, Brett and Mo to gather around near the beginning of the latest calender year to try and guess a few things that will come true in 2015. As well as they receive their scores for any correct predictions from the previous year. Did any of them get anything right?
This is one of the most popular and funniest episodes of the year. It’s completely insane in the way only We Talk Comics can be, so listen on the We Talk Podcasts website or at our show sponsor COMICOSITY.

  • We Talk Comics Ep 123: Kickstart This: Andrew Jackson in Space
The comic is called “Andrew Jackson in Space.”
The pitch is that it’s US President Andrew Jackson… in space.
Well there’s a little more to it than that, but you can hear it directly from writer Brian M. Visaggio in this special Kickstart This episode of We Talk Comics.
Chris and Keith sit down with Brian to talk about the campaign, the book, and a whole lot more. Why Andrew Jackson? Will he send more presidents to space? Will he get inspiration from the presidents-in-space that Chris and Keith pitch?
Extra credit to Brian for not storming of when Keith tried his patented “only Enterprise is still in continuity” move on this avid Trek fan.
All this, and the guys even have time to touch on a bit of news and discuss the curiously similar comic events coming from Marvel and DC – Secret Wars and Convergence.
Sit back, pour a glass of Romulan Ale, and enjoy a behind-the-scenes look at Andrew Jackson in Space!
The Kickstarter for Andrew Jackson in Space is on until February 7, 2015. Back it today!

  • We Talk Comics 122: 3rd Annual Secret Santa Story Exchange
or “Actually, It’s About Santa in Comics’ Journalism”
It’s the annual Secret Santa episode of We Talk Comics and it’s an all-star cast of comic book pundits, reviewers, and journalists.
Keith, Brett and Chris from We Talk are joined by Matt Santori-Griffith (co-owner of Comicosity.com), Chris Doucher (owner of GeekNerdNet.com), Stephanie Cooke (host of Talking Comics), and Jessica Boyd (host of The Hangout).
All seven of the hosts and guests, with the assistance of a Mo-Tastic Santa, picked a graphic novel, comic, or collection for another one of the crowd to read. We go around the group to talk about what we read and guess the identity of our Secret Santa.
It was an extra challenging guessing game this year as Stephanie is brand new to our crowd and Jessica hasn’t been on the show in nearly two years.
So pour some eggnog, get into that Santa frame of mind, and listen to comic talk as seven of the most well-read comic folks out there discover something new to them.
