This week's Rick Pick, Memories of Murder (2003) directed by Bong Joon-ho, is the best movie we've covered that we never want to watch again. We talk about the movie's ever-changing tone, depiction of violence in movies, and our listeners' personal data >:)

This week's Rick's Pick takes us back to 2004 for Michael Moore's inflammatory-yet-quaint documentary on the conservative machinations leading to the Iraq War, Fahrenheit 9/11. A movie that is somehow more fun to talk around than to talk about, we digress into Trump-era politics (ew), our opinion on 9/11 jokes (they're corny), and this movie's influence on YouTube documentarians (also ew and corny). This is probably the best sounding episode yet because now that I have Ricky on cam during our calls he is forced to not fidget around and smack the table and shit.

This week's episode is a...Bronco Henry Entry? Is that anything? For Liesl's Reel we watched The Power of the Dog (2021) directed by Jane Thee Campion. We get into the heady topics like being gay at Yale, Lane's throuple with Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons <3, and whether we should give a synopsis of the movie in each episode (no). Ricky's cats are WILDING in the episode so beware of the meowing.

This week's Lane's Frame is a doozy: Naked (1992) directed by Mike Leigh. We discuss scumbags, the depiction of violence in movies, and people who can't shut the fuck up. Digressions include an Oscar recap and what makes a good plane movie.

This week's Rick's Pick is 1988's The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! directed by David Zucker. What makes a good comedy? Does Ricky know who Priscilla Presley is? Can Liam Neeson fill Leslie Nielsen's (Christmas) shoes?

Ricky defines the term "bad faith" during our lengthy discussion of this week's Lane's Frame, The Last Airbender (2010) directed by M. Night Shyamalan. In between Ricky's very indulgent attempts at tearing down this movie, we get into whether an adaptation can offend its source material, the story behind the racist casting, and Ricky's secret career as a CinemaSins content creator.

This week's Rick's Pick is another great movie that's tough to say much about beyond, it's good! While discussing our second Hayao Miyazaki movie, 1984's Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, we talk about Miyazaki's greater career, fandom, and whether anime is a mistake. Also, you can definitely hear the sounds of Christopher building a plane in the background during this record...just pretend it adds to the airship ambiance.

This week's Lane's Frame leads to a wicked smaht discussion of Good Will Hunting (1997) directed by Gus van Sant. Digressions include 90s Oscar bait, Matt Damon's screen persona, and how men will emotionally burn out their girlfriends instead of going to therapy. Also I spent 20 minutes in an unrelated wikipedia rabbit hole this week reading about the autistic savant character in The Predator and organically came across the article on photographic memory which clearly says it doesn't exist, so Ricky can go huff farts.

Hey, it doesn't suck! This week's very special episode on Showgirls (1995) directed by Paul Verhoeven was recorded in person with glamorous friend of the show, Lucy. We get a little Lucy Goosey talking about camp, gummy bears, and whether having sex in water is actually worth it. We lost Lucy's audio file so unfortunately the audio is a little rough here, but nevertheless she persisted.

This week's Rick's Pick is Playtime (1967) directed by Jacques Tati, and this episode is a doozy. Who would've thought it would be hard to talk about Visual Gags: The Motion Picture? Despite the short episode runtime, we manage multiple long digressions about cartoons and Joe Rogan, even though I cut out literally 15 minutes of Ricky talking about Phineas and Ferb...?
