This weeks episode is one Jerrica and Lia have been anticipating for a while now- why? Because they get to RANT! Kind of both about real life and reading life. They have thoughts on section scenes, lists that include books that shouldn’t be in those lists, chemistry of characters, what is the new normal for romance, and what we hope for the future. Jerrica tries to sneak in a rant about inky black hair, but Lia quickly blocks it. Then gives you a little spoiler for our holiday specials! Listen in to the best book podcast ever (despite what our husbands think).

This week Lia and Jerrica try to get in to the Christmas spirit with the book of the week A Princess for Christmas and a bonus book Dash and Lily's book of dares. One was filled with a lot of questionable section scenes, and the other filled with chemistry, but not for the MC.
Jerrica and Lia rant about stereotypical location choices and roll their eyes so loud you may be able to hear it, at the use of 'the middle of the alps'. If you're up for a laugh and some christmas romance, listen in!

In this weeks episode Lia sends laser death stares at Jerrica while she talks about her tropical vacation, but has impressively read more than Jerrica during her week away. They discuss the book of the week Ace of Shades and Lia gives us a glimpse into the bigger picture of the story as she has continued the series. This prompts their most likely never-ending praise of story planning by Raven Kennedy in her Gild series. They intro the next book of the week, taking a turn to Hallmark rom-com Christmas town in A Princess for Christmas. Will the taxi driver and the princess fall in love? Listen in and follow along to find out!

In this weeks episode Lia and Jerrica are finally on the same page about a book! It’s a miracle! They both speed read Gild and quickly finish the second book in the series too - warning - the story evolves as does our golden girl! Not sure we’d ever thought we’d say this, but we appreciate hating the bad guys, and the naive MC, as it was necessary to understand the mind of someone deeply repressed by her captor. Book three prediction: girl power! Lia chooses the next book Ace of Shades by Amanda Foody and immediately approves of a street thug who got his rep at 11 years old. Card game anyone? Listen in to hear all the thoughts!

In this weeks episode Jerrica and Lia feel extra proud of themselves for correctly predicting the plot of the book of the week. While Jerrica was on to something with medieval courting rituals, she was not impressed with the audiobook female narration and gives you a taste of what she endured. Lia was not phased by it and but agrees to let Jerrica choose the next book of the week. Welcome to the “not everything is as it seems” first person narration of a literally gold girl in Gild by Raven Kennedy. The first three chapters make Lia rage, but don’t you worry- there’s more story to come! Listen in and find out!

In this weeks episode Lia and Jerrica give the heist theme another go, and are again dissatisfied. Will anything ever live up to Six of Crows? They think not. Moving on to fantasy romance, they listen to Prince of Never and Jerrica predicts a very traditional medieval courting with choice words. Bed movements anyone? Listen in!

This week Lia and Jerrica are in super speed mode and getting all their tasks done while, of course, reading like fiends. Jerrica has a Lia moment during her latest romance binge and realized halfway through she’d read the series before! Lia loved the book of the week The Bear and the Nightingale so much that she sped through the whole trilogy by week end! We start a new heist book The Gilded Wolves and are excited to see similarities to Six of Crows. Follow along and let us know what you’re binging this week!

This week we get spooky with Last Things by Jacqueline West, and learn a very important lesson: avoid the woods with creepy men. Life lessons complete. Jerrica and Lia prep themselves for book club and delve into Russian folklore with The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden, which also hints at avoiding creepy men and woods! So, again, avoid the woods and creepy guys. Now we said it three times so it should stick. Happy Halloween everyone!

This week is Halloween, so we take you to all sides of spooky! One where the future includes words like Maz, Terraz, and boys named Jaesin. A present where pet companies thrived more than any other during the pandemic. And a past where an emo band boy creeps us to the max. Well, okay, Last Things is not set in the past but it flowed better. Lia gets ready to dress up as 067 from Squid Games and Jerrica sews a rainbow poop emoji costume for her 3-yr-old. Happy Halloween readers!!!

Lia and Jerrica meet irl again and they have stories to discuss! Jerrica used her sick days to read an epic four part series she loved-until she realized it didn’t end there and has to wait half a year for the next. This brings up the “how long is too long” series discussion. Our book of the week Legendborn is part one of a series and we find ourselves wanting more of a prequel than a second. We intro our next book which has some choice spelling of names and extra unique slang terms that the girls can’t help but laugh at. Listen in and laugh with us! Happy reading!
