To be a trope or to not be a trope? In today’s episode we discuss many tropes within YA/NA/Romance and Fantasy. Jerrica listens to a book about an author living in a trope romance, and Lia eye rolls so hard you can nearly hear it! What tropes do you love, hate, hate that you love, and love to hate? Listen in to hear all of ours!!

In this weeks summer special you not only get our book reviews, but also our tv/movie adaptation reviews! Surprisingly we don’t always prefer the books over the films/shows, and while we often disagree, we wholeheartedly agree on how amazing the series Brave New World is! From a book written almost 100 years ago, to a tv show that still captures the futuristic aspect of the story- cue applause, curtsy and bow. So if you’re home on a rainy summer day or out in the sun, listen in, we have some books, shows and movies for you!

It was Lia’s birthday this week!! What do you think she got for presents?? Yap - books! But even better, books by hot authors, so we can all skip the complaining of constant comparisons from character to author. What a smart husband you’ve got. In other reading news, Jerrica has discovered author Katee Robert and is obsessed with all of her books and all of her tweets. Lia and Jerrica agree to disagree on the book of the week The Hunted by Meagan Spooner. Next up are summer special episodes, stay tuned!

This week Lia and Jerrica contemplate what flying is going to be like from now on. One thing is for certain: fondue forks are still unacceptable on-board companions. We chat about Boyfriend Material by Alexis Hall and preview our next book of the week Hunted by Meagan Spooner. Listen in and follow along- we listened to both of these books on Storytel.

We don’t want to brag, but this is the best episode ever - mostly because we are reviewing the best book ever! The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E Schwab. Warning: we gush, and ramble, and try our best to do it justice. We love Addie. We also love the current weather in Sweden and look forward to celebrating our Midsummer Eve and Lia’s birthday this week! In honor of celebrating love, we judge the cover and plot predict the queer romance book Boyfriend Material by Alexis Hall. Listen in and if you haven’t read these yet- you’re welcome!

This week Lia and Jerrica blow the competitors out of the water with how much they read. Who the competitors are, no one knows, but they feel like they’re winning nevertheless. They summarize The Song of Wraiths and Ruin and intro The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E Schwab- and guess what?! Their husbands actually show interest in hearing about this one! They cannot wait to take advantage of this and talk about the book non stop this week. Read along and listen in to hear about what they thought next week! Happy reading!!

In this weeks episode Jerrica continues to explain the thruple romance series by Katee Robert and sparks some creative thinking in Lia, who dreams up Jerrica’s ultimate RH with dragons and kings and elves and fae, and sure, why not a vampire too. Meanwhile Lia cries while reading for the first time in the “most perfect book ever” Hamnet by Maggie O’Farrell. They discuss Good Girls by Claire Eliza Bartlett and decide multiple narrators does not always help to differentiate characters, then intro their newest book of the week, A Song of Wraiths and Ruin by Roseanne A. Brown. It’s a pod-full of books, listen in and read along!

Lia tries to convince Jerrica that all 400 hours of Eurovision was worth watching because Italian rock music is the future. Jerrica’s not one to judge as she spends 400 hours reading a thruple romance series. They together analyze and summarize the book of the week Gideon the Ninth by Tasmyn Muir and wished they predicted “they all die”. So for the next book The Good Girls by Claire Eliza Bartlett they predict “they all lie” - listen in and see if you agree!!
