Weebology Podcast

Well I hate to say it (not that much) but everyone except for Ethan was wrong about Season 2 of One Punch Man. There was a lot of gripe flowing around before season 2 was released due to the animation studio shift from season 1 to 2. People were talking about an assumed massive downgrade in animation and overall enjoyment in the highly anticipated sophomore season of One Punch Man.

I am happy to say everyones fears were overblown and we ended up with a great product in season 2. The story truly carried the season and left us very satisfied.

What did y'all think of One Punch Man Season 2? Let us know!

Spoiler! Ethan and Ricky tell you all why you SHOULD be watching Black Clover! This series is animated by Studio Pierrot which brought us the Naruto Series, Bleach, Yuu Yuu Hakusho, Tokyo Ghoul, and many more worldwide sensations. The series faced early criticism due to the main character Asta's annoying and rambunctious demeanor early on. We assert you should stick with the series and savor in the character growth and the insanely cool world and power system Pierrot brought to life!

Are you watching Black Clover?? Let us know on YouTube or Instagram!

Happy Labor Day ya’ll! This week we chat our favorite weapons in anime. Huge shoutout to Jawaan for suggesting this topic it was a lot of fun. A few ground rules we set were no mechs and ideally the weapons are unique in some way. The weapon may also be a weapons system rather than a singular apparatus.

In the second half of the episode we revisit one of our favorite series on the cast the over/under debate. This week we talk about the Fox sin of greed Ban from seven deadly sins. How can an immortal character be overrated you ask? Well let me tell you haha. We had a good debate and conversation on one of the coolest characters in 7DS.

Ethan and Ricky go in-depth on the two shows we had previously pitched each other. Ethan pitched the 6 episode sensation Fooly Cooly (FLCL) and Ricky pitched the 2017 Anime Award Winner Made in Abyss.

FLCL can be found on youtube and Made In Abyss can be watched on Amazon Prime Video.

FLCl has a lot of deep relatable meanings and also means nothing at all at the same time. This show contains some industry firsts and is an absolutely WILD ride. Made In Abyss is a much more cerebral showing with Miyazaki-esque landscapes and an extremely well built world to dive into.

Have ya'll seen these awesome shows? Which did you like better?

Ethan and Ricky discuss the Summer 2019 roster of anime. This is an incredibly strong season of anime with quite a few hugely anticipated shows. Did y'all want to see any of the shows we mentioned?

In the second half of the episode we debate whether watching a show in Dubbed or Subbed is more immersive and enjoyable. We both agree that good dubs are the key to making shows more desirable to the Western audiences and speak about our other opinions on what is the best way to enjoy anime.

What do you all think? Is Dub or Sub better?

Spoiler Warning! We deep dive the longest arc in Hunter X Hunter but also potentially one of the most controversial. There are quite a few people out there who believe the Chimera Ant arc is the weakest on offer during the whole Hunter X Hunter series. Ethan and Ricky try to get to the bottom of this topic and give our opinions!

In the second portion of the episode we do our second round of pitching in our patented Pitch or ditch segment. This week Ethan is pitching the classic Fooly Cooly and Ricky is pitching the 2017 Award winning Made in Abyss. Did we pitch it well enough for y'all to watch?
