- Ep. 37: The Truth about Dr. Stone one of our favorites from 2019!This week we went all in on Ethan's favorite show of 2019, Dr. Stone. This show was produced TMS Entertainment and has been serialized in Shonen Jump since March of 2017. The series centers around Senku and his goal to revive humanity from a mysterious event causing all of humanity to be encased in stone.
We talked through some of the criticisms of the shows, some things we thought could have used more time spent on them, some concerns we had about plot, and of course the themes we truly loved and why it was a Top 2 anime for both of us in 2019.
The show from Discovery Channel that tackles "What would happen to the Earth if people vanished?" is called Life after People. The specific episode that deals with the steel decomposition and possible ruins from massive skyscrapers is episode 4 "Heavy Metal". Check that out if you are curious as well.
Along these lines Ethan mentioned he didn't think steel would decompose after 3700 years. Turns out yeah totally would in like 100 years. I'm more interested in steel encased in cement I'm not sure at that point how much decomposition you can expect.

1 hr 7 min - Ep. 36: Worst of Weeb and Pitch or Ditch are BACK baby!!!This week your Weebologists are back at it again with potentially our favorite segments, the splendiferous Pitch or Ditch and the Worst of Weeb (still a working title). We start off the episode by thanking our reviewers on Apple Podcasts!
Special shoutout to googe it dog, Econ93, SlurrySlinger, kingderah, PK Yeet, MCvetmed, joncon10, Physique Brah, and Weebengineer! Seriously y'all we can't thank you enough for not only listening to our mad ravings and machinations but also to take the time to write us a review is absolutely huge! If you would like to be mentioned the next time we talk about our reviews make sure to leave one here --> Weebology iTunes
In our Worst of Weeb segment we are working through the worst shows in 2019. We started off with a truly revolting piece of media called Pastel Memories. Pastel Memories is a show that was devised rather diabolically to advertise what we can only assume is one of the worst video games of the year as well. We were saddened for the 2,500 other people who subjected themselves to the show and rated it on MyAnimeList. I mean the disappointment is truly palpable in this review of the show, y'all reach out to Ricky and support him for being the brave soul that watched all 11 episodes of this travesty.
On the flip side we brought back potentially the most stimulating segment in our show and worked up another round of pitches for Pitch or Ditch. Ricky pitched Meglobox and I pitched Jormungund. Make sure to check out our pitches and tell us whether y'all would watch them based off that alone.

59 min - Ep. 35: Akame Ga Kill - a lesson in doing edge right! This week your favorite weebologists talk about a series that seems to have quite the cult following, Akame Ga Kill. This was a show from the Summer 2014 season of anime by White Fox studio. The show follows Tatsumi, a country bumpkin with designs on becoming a hero in the big city and sending lots of money back to his poor rural village. Very quickly Tatsumi is swallowed up in the big city and all is not what it had seemed. The story follows him and Night Raid as they work to subdue the corrupt government through assassination.
We talk through why we think this show has garnered such a significant fan base, why this harem was both good and bad, and why the edginess of this show seemed fairly well done for the most part! Be sure to let us now what you thought!

59 min - Ep. 34: New Podcasting Friends and Over/ Underrated Zenitsu ft. Anime Compost PodcastToday we are joined by some new friendos in the Anime podcasting space the Anime Compost team. Max, Paul, and Eddie tell us how their podcast started and some of the things they like best about hosting a show. We honestly covered a pretty serious chunk of topics and had a complete blast with them. The biggest portion of this episode we did another installment of our patented Over/ Underrated series on Zenitsu from Kimetsu no Yaiba. The Weebologists took the Overrated stance and Composters took the Underrated side. Let us now who you thought won the debate!
This was our first time we have recorded with Squad Cast as we are located in the South East and the Anime Composters are up in the North East. There are a few instances where myself or Ricky cut out a little but the composters audio is very clean! Thanks for your understanding!
Definitely check out their show I'm personally a fan and listen to all their eps!

1 hr 10 min - Ep. 31: Arc Analysis - Why Soul Society Arc is the Best in Bleach
The Weebologists are back out here for another arc analysis on one of our favorite shows. We talk about Bleach legit all the time so we decided to just get in there and talk about the first arc and why it is widely considered the best arc in Bleach.
Bleach is written and illustrated by Tite Kubo. The manga was published in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump from August 7, 2001, to August 22, 2016. The Bleach anime series aired in Japan on TV Tokyo's Tuesday 6pm timeslot from October 5, 2004, to March 27, 2012, excluding holidays. The series was directed by Noriyuki Abe, and produced by TV Tokyo, Dentsu and Studio Pierrot. Viz Media obtained the foreign television, home video and merchandising rights to the Bleach anime from TV Tokyo Corporation and Shueisha, on March 15, 2006. Viz Media has later licensed its individual Bleach merchandising rights to several different companies. - Wikipedia
What do you think set this arc apart from the rest in this series? Which arc was your favorite (and don't say the bounts...) ?

51 min - Ep. 30: Shoujo Genre Exploration - Maid-Sama and Ouran Host Club ft. Dannie from Anime Summit Podcast! We are crazy excited to welcome Dannie from the Anime Summit Podcast onto the show this week. We picked a topic we had essentially zero experience in and were extremely lucky Dannie was willing to come on and speak to the Shoujo genre of anime. This week we talk through our thoughts on the Top 2 Shoujo Anime as rated by My Anime List, The Ouran Host Club and Maid-Sama!
Shoujo literally stands for "girl" or "young woman" in Japanese. Therefore it is easy to guess that it is aimed at the readership that mostly consists of teenage girls and young women. The first shoujo magazine ever was published in 1903 and it is interesting that the majority of shoujo artists were actually male. Only after the 1960s did female artists start emerging from the shadows and presenting their works, inspired by the post-war events, American TV shows and female empowerment. - MyAnimeList.com u/FreeNightFalls

53 min - Ep. 28: Ask the Professors - Conversation with an Anime noob! ft. our friend Daniel! This week we had on our long time friend Daniel to the cast! Now Daniel isn’t exactly what we would call and anime fan in fact he referred to himself as a “wannaweeb” which I thought was hilarious. Daniel’s Anime story was much like I believe most American kids Anime experience reads, watched anime in Toonami and WBKids and then sort of stopped watching Anime.
Ricky and Ethan work to clear up some misconceptions about the platform for our good friend and just all around have a blast!
