So uhh... I didn't feel up to recording guitars or vocals for any of the current on-the-go projects today, so for yet another last minute submission, I thought of doing an instrumental synth 'driving' theme, because pulsing synth tunes usually conjure an image in my mind of Miami Vice style cruising in the warm nights. Then of course, vocal melody humming accidentally happened, then some lyric ideas, welp... guess I'm doing vocals :/

The intro was an early idea to imitate an engine with pitch automation, but I abandoned it quickly because it sounded so daggy. As the rest of the song came together though, it was sounding pretty daggy anyway, so I figured I may as well drop the intro back in.

Drifting alone on an open ocean, the horizon looks the same in all directions. only the sky and stars can tell us where we are.

Another quick one this week. Went for an ambient soundscape. Spent the majority of my time tweaking the sidechains to get rid of the clicks and pops. about 10 minutes writing a few patters, 20 minutes sequencing and writing in filter automations, about 30 minutes tweaking fxs, sidechains and volumes.

This was a super quick one that I threw together Sunday morning after another busy week. As usual, the mixing is a bit lacking and all over the place. It definitely feels a bit incomplete, like it could have been developed into a more full track. Even given the rushed arrangement and bad mixing, there are a few sounds I liked in this one and think it turned out okay, all things considered. Any feedback is appreciated!
