  • Week 27 - djippy - Beware of the bass
Did record this one Friday (the 8 bars), took a bit of time this Sunday morning to do an arrangement that I feel is not too boring, if it is, sorry! plus a bit of mixing (finally I mostly lose time with the mixing part as all the "creative" mixing I did I just trashed)
Did play a bit again with the new acoustic guitar and my drums. Added a growly dirty bass.
    Voilà!
I did perform 2 covers last week at out office Party. (And not as a drummer, I did sing and play a bit of guitar)... It was NOT a great performance, but a lot of fun. :)
VERY bad fitness week. With the party, the heatwave, etc... I just didn't move much, did drink-eat too much, etc...
It is what it is!!! I'll try to get back to it now. :)
    Rock on!

  • Week 27 - impbox - Fathomless
Tonverk again, pushing the Wavefinder synth to get some of those nice wubby sounds.
Running some of the melodic stuff out into a Microcosm and back in.
Once again annoyed with Tonverk bugs and missing features, but managed to finish something!
Enjoyed the sound design stuff and drum programming, not very happy with the structure though.

  • Week 27 - Mamoriya - Failed Musician
This might be the best drop I've ever made. Title is completely ironic. But maybe someone might feel that way considering the style of music I make and that I can't play melodic instruments as of present.
I think that's enough music for an album, go listen: Mamoriya - Raison on SoundCloud

  • Week 27 - Ashtom - Glistening Moss
After walking in the forest, carried by the rays of light from the sun poking through the tree leaves, we find the entrance of a cave. Its walls are covered in moss that glistens from the rare light that still reaches it.
The cave is rough and its shape is sharp, but at the same time, a welcoming warmth emanates from its depths.
This is the fourth movement of a long form ambient experience that I'm piecing track after track. All composed and produced on the Synthstrom Deluge.
Thanks for listening and for reading!
    Have a nice week.

  • Week 27 - embix - Convection Oven
Started this during the heat wave, hence the title. Wanted something to give me energy. The main riff sounds somewhat familiar, although I'm not really sure - some KLF title maybe? Or even a common trope?

  • Week 27 - N_ronvaldez - Things Arise (76 BPM)
Here is what I have "latched onto making" out of the musician-residency I'm doing at a local nonprofit. I had (offscreen) used their equipment to record myself playing chime-bars live. Then there were some other decisions and nondecisions (accidents) that arose out of the composition and effects-chains. for this WB, I have used the power of an Ableton delay preset and simple ADSR to turn this audio into more of a drums feel. This WB I am uploading was completed on June 29th and it is now the early-morning of July 5th. Here is a link to the "stems" I started with (two-voice 16th notes gainstaged individually) - Things arise0_130BPM.
And, here is another iteration I had arrived at by Friday afternoon; EQ and FX-artifacts are all over the place so I didn't upload this as my primary MP3 - Things arise2_90BPM. There are more parts to this, which I plan to use as part of a scheduled live noise jam this morning on KDVS. EDIT: The dj was too sleep-deprived to drive to the station safely, so the show didn't happen. Gonna work some more on this (resynthesizing), but not for WB.
