  • Week 17 - horatiuromantic - GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome)
Guys I was very close to not making anything this week. I am not sure how long I can keep my streak. No video cause it's just me with the ac guitar in the dark, but it is the second take and I can't be bothered to do more.
It's about all the new music shit I bought that I don't have time to use and enjoy because of work and life and being tired. But hey at least I always have my trusty acoustic guitar for a quick and dirty song in the night!!!
Chords: G, C, D   (there is no chord called "S" otherwise I would have made that work)
    › Lyrics‹ Lyrics
Some things are material, a lil spiritual too,
[I got so much shit in here, I don't know what to do]
Some things make you happy, and others make you blue
[I got so much shit in here, I don't know what to do.]
I have a piano under my bed
I keep it there cause where to put it instead?
My newest piano is taking the main spot
All the others taking  all the other space I got
Some things are material, a lil spiritual too,
[I got so much shit in here, I don't know what to do]
Some things make you happy, and others make you blue
[I got so much shit in here, I don't know what to do.]
I live in a box, just above a tree
I can see a squirrel sometimes, fast as one can be
Squirrel lives in a big hole up in said tree
Sometimes she looks over, laughing at me.
Some things are material, a lil spiritual too,
[I got so much shit in here, I don't know what to do]
Some things make you happy, and others make you blue
[I got so much shit in here, I don't know what to do.]
Someday I'll be needin' no more than 2 by half
Hopefully an old geezer, dead by too much laugh
Until then I hope I'll learn to get rid of some of my stuff
But when it comes to music gear I'll never have enough.
Some things are material, a lil spiritual too,
[I got so much shit in here, I don't know what to do]
Some things make you happy, and others make you blue
[I got so much shit in here, I don't know what to do.]

  • Week 17 - AiDeRen - Operatorselector
Written entirely on Dirtywave M8 Tracker
    Light mastering in Audacity (normalizing/limiting/compressing).
A continuation of last week's track's outro, which was the previous week's outro, which was the previous week's outro, which...
    Did this in three hours:
    - wasn't satisfied in the first hour;
    - had something of a buildup during the second;
    - tried some arrangement during the third.
Almost went breakcore at some point, but decided not to (I lie, I wouldn't have made it timewise if I had to program that).
Kudos to my computer not recognising the M8 nor the SD card dongle as USB devices, yay, almost couldn't upload the finished track.
    Thanks for listening.
(Might be some audio crackling, or it might be due to my bluetooth headphones, I will only know tomorrow when listening through some speakers when the house is not sleeping anymore.)

  • Week 17 - MRDRCAT - How About a Refreshing Yoo-Hoo Soda?
Started this on Friday when I had an hour. I was going to add some variation, more percussion, and play with the melody, but nope. Home repairs instead. So here’s where it is now, because submitting is…regritting….

  • Week 17 - evanericksonmusic - Bastard’s Clavicle
Took a week off. The occasional dropped weeks are really helping the inspiration, and I’m enjoying spending more of my good moments to chill out.
Made something batshit with a friend’s voice. Hadn’t made a song with my best friend saying shit yet. I am gonna release probably 15-20 songs made up of my friends.
I actually did try several new things in here. I wanted to focus on making a beefy bassline that is actually heard, general “clarity,” and I wanted to try a switchup into a new style. There’s lots of cut corners and glue to have padded this out, such as not doing more with the switchup, but I’m pretty happy with the things I experimented with here.
    Enjoy this batshit song lol

  • Week 17 - RPLKTR - Asymptotic
I welcome all critical feedback. Can relicense if you're interested, just ask.
Everything is packed. Everything else is sold or given away. Leaving on Thursday.
This leaves me with no choice but to make a minimalistic track this week. I went with a single-take improvisation on my Yamaha FGDP-50 with a sampled handpan kit I made for it a few years back. I added minimal percussion to guide the listener. Also a single-take performance on the FGDP-50.
In 2024 I briefly had a Zenko tongue drum at home and made a weekly beat with it. This week's track is spiritually following those footsteps.
80 BPM 4/4, A-minor. No AI used in any part of the process. For this year every cover art is a photo I took.

  • Week 17 - Celio_Morya - Not A Circle - I Cant`t retreat
This week I’m bringing a track from my techno project Not A Circle .
Normally, this would be the week for my psytechno project, Morya, but I didn’t really feel inspired in that direction. Right now I’m working on a remix for a remix contest that ends in April and im a bit late :), so my head hasn’t been thinking too far outside of that box lately.
So here is my approach to a track where the train motion of the dancefloor just can’t stop. The people dancing want more, and more, and more.
I think it turned into a very full and energetic track, like a runaway train moving at high speed.
Music made on Logic X 11,1,1
    All virtual instruments and samples
    bpm 134 D
Exported at 256kbit/s at -1 truepeak level to fit the 16mega limit
    Hope you enjoy it!
wish you a very good and productive week !
