Completely misjudged how much time and energy i had left after enjoying the sun at my favourite open air club all day. :D Feels super lame to just mix and match spliceloops but i didnt want to miss this week. For next week id like to explore the just released zebra3 vst instrument. Lets see how it goes. :)

I decided to take a break from the constant breaks (lol) and do something different this time around - a little jam using only MACROSYN on the M8.

This track was a challenge and is unlike anything I've ever written before, so I hope y'all enjoy.

This one started with the fingerpicking theme you hear first, and...that became a center of gravity that everything else responded to. It was kind of a challenge to find variations that didn't fall into it. While tracking Saturday night, I suddenly had an allergic reaction to some kind of pollen in the air. Kind of difficult to improvise while sneezing and coughing, so I found myself a bit short on material. In a Sunday editing session, I had what felt like a complete version of the piece, but listening back to it a bit later...the last third of it dragged a bit. I ended up shortening the piece by 30 seconds, which seems a bit better.

Three tracks of PureSalem Mendiola through the JHS Colourbox 10. Convolution reverb send for air, and then some compression/eq/limiting on the stereo mix.

The title comes from (the) Our river, which has an elevation of 643m.

Well then, I reimported the drum phone recording from last week and found a satisfying loop...

I wasn't sure on the time signature but it seemed to me to be 7 and a half beats in a bar - so my DAW is set to 15/8.

Had some fun trying to make it work rhythmically and played guitar to it and it kind of tickles my brain a bit. Maybe I'm at that stage of my music journey where I need a whacky time signature to feel something. haha

Both of the main instruments here are groups of unrelated samples, packaged and whirled up together. Had a lot of fun building this and seeing where it ended up.
