This was a very rough week for me. I had to put down the best cat in the world (fight me!), Jasmine on Tuesday. She was over 17 and tired. Still trying my best to hold it together while I'm typing this out. To some it's just an animal, but to me she was my world. The wife and I do not have kids, nor do we plan to, so animals is all we've got. She was the last pet of the household and now... everything just feels so empty.  I miss you girl, but I know your suffering in silence is over.

Hey everyone, hope life is treating you all well. This week is a chiptune week again.

Sadly i wasnt able to put in more time since i feel like this kinda deserves some more attention but its now sunday and im about to head to bed so no way i can drag it out more but this one certainly goes on my „rework a bit before release“ list.

Inspiration wise this one was (outside of the main melody of the second part being written ages ago during an voicecall in the teenage engineering discord where i showed off how the m8 works) directed towards a festival here in linz called „urfix“ which is kinda like the „oktoberfest“ in germany but in linz and they usually have a few places selling cotton candy and im really looking forward to grab some fresh one sometime. So the anticipation of that kinda fueled this happy uplifting chiptune.

Lets see what kind of emotions eating bratwurst and sauerkraut will make me write once i grab some of those next week when the event actually happens. Maybe i can grab some cool video footage of it to put into the youtube video.

This time I focused again on abletons pan-tremolo audio effect, to developed mainly the arp- Sample from splice, probably to slowly over the time..not much tension but a I learned something- also a bout my time management, which i want to developed an improve too - both in music and everyday live..

This is a better attempt at a cyberpunk-type track than my attempt last week. There is definitly some heavy Carpenter Brut inspiration after seeing him live last Sunday. After coming up with a few little stems and and general "vibe" for the track, I asked Phil to record some guitars and we pieced together this track. It ended up being much longer than I originally expected, and definitely would have liked to have spent a bit more time mixing it. But overall, for having started this on Saturday morning I'm pretty happy with it... In fact, its probably one of my favorite tracks I've submited to WB! Any feedback is appreciated!

All the guitars are performed by paperthinphil on a Jackson Dinky JS22 and recorded on a Line 6 PodGo with a custom patch that he made. All other sounds were made on the M8, and the track was built+arranged on the M8.

I took the picture while waiting for a train in Philly a few weeks ago, and then both Phil and I modified it a bit to get the end result. The "stuck in a subway with a button to press for help" is what I used for the track title and the (🧀super cheesy🧀) vocals.
