Another very busy week. There were some big lows and some big highs. Some tough moments. Some uncomfortable truths. Some happy learnings. All is well that ends well!
One highlight of this week was a weekend trip down to Hobart to visit my brother, his wife, and their daughter. My niece is growing up so quickly! She's talking more and more and she can clearly understand things now! She demands to be picked up and held upside down and her favourite word is "more". It was also very lovely to get some one on one time with my brother over dinner - something that we don't get to do very often. It was a brief trip but every second was worthwhile and I like to think I made it count.
This week's track was written in an hour on Sunday afternoon, and recorded with a room mic (nice to be away from the computer for a bit longer). Lyrics are inspired by a passage in the novel I'm reading at the moment. Guitar in DADEF#C# tuning.
place your earring in my hand
it feels cold to the touch
though I long for something warm
I don't ask for much
looking back you will see love
a straight line through the mess
change where you are looking from
and you'll settle for much less
fools rush in
dying to save
fools rush in
and some will call them brave
