Had another go at a Vocalfy vocal set, this time as D'n'B.

Been struggling a bit with sound design, but for the first half of working on this, I was super distracted and in the end I ran out of time, so the arrangement could also be better - I had to throw away an idea for a second part that just sounded way to disjointed to make sense.

This week I was sitting on some stems since Tuesday, after playing with the new M8 Firmware and the hypersynth shapes. Towards the end of the week I turned it into a darker track with some of my typical atmospheric sounds and hits, and added some samples from Johnny Mnemonic. Overall its an okay track, but (as usual) I couldn't get the mix quite right.

I tried to keep it a little simpler this time. I'm trying to get something that is less complex and more generally enjoyable. So the complexities, I'm trying to make subtle. This does present a challenge for making the song "evolve" of course. But I think that's fine. I have to find a balance between evolution and simplicity. I'm sure I'll find it with more practice.

oh and the song is titled "Start Here" becuase I feel like there are many things in my life right now starting over.. starting from square zero.. or things being dismantled. So I feel like I'm rebuilding myself as well.
