I would have liked to have a bit more time to work on this one, but I am out of it, so this will have to do.

It was a bit of an odd week in terms of writing, I had a couple of false starts before creating the first part of this and even though it wasn't even a song at that point, there was something compelling about it... and also something... French?

But by 'French', I mean 'it makes me think of Phoenix and Air', but ... also Empire of the Sun's soundtrack for 'Accidents Happen', so also Aussie? I dunno.

Anyway, eventually I decided I was going to put some time into figuring out one of FL Studio's stock plugins that I'd never gotten my head around: Wave Traveller... and that was definitely the part of the track that ran out of time.

I don't think what's in there is *bad*, just *undercooked* because the Wave Traveller interface is oddly counterintuitive for me when thinking about how the scratches line up to the rest of the track... but it's probably just a matter of practice.

So, yeah, successful in terms of a song I still find really engaging to listen back to and a success in me finally getting my head around a plugin that's been part of the software for longer than I've been using it... which is saying a lot... But I could have kept tinkering with it...

Another super intense week. So i set a deadline of one hour to make this track and here's what I got. I got inspired by a jam session I had with friends the night before - just coming up with weird tracks after weird tracks for a couple of hours, somewhere between stoner, tool-like weird tracks, alice in chains, and getting deeply deeply lost in the desert (to be more accurate, in old studio in shibuya but it's the same).

So yeah this track is just a bunch of improvised riffs, and lots of arps for a track where a drive takes a strange turn directly into hyperspace. Maybe it has something to do with the Crimson Powder.

It's rough and raw but hey that was fun, and that's the most important for me.

Had an informal wager with a fellow WB member on discord (0x_colt) to break out of the norm I've beenw riting in and do a Major scale for the 1st time in a long time and get back into the slower, more melodic style I used to write in. This is what has come from that. Written on the M8 Tracker and uses the hypersynth for the main chords and arps and wavsynth or samples for everything else.

Tougher writing this week and the mix was escaping me a fair bit but I got it done and I like it.
