For this month’s submission, I got by with a little help from my friend….

Collaboration #2: bat_matt strikes again!

Matt provided all the guitar parts and some lovely background vocals for this one.

I love collaborating because I initially had a very different idea for where I wanted to take this song, but when Matt sent me back these layers of really beautiful guitar parts I was surprised but thrilled. I also had hoped to build the song up a lot more with keys and drums but I got sick with a nasty cold so that didn’t happen. Ah well… I think we made it work without them.

Funky Chord Warning! This one started very conventional and then some mad changes came out of nowhere cadence-wise but it just worked and the resulting chorus I found so catchy, to the point I had to keep modulating it to get back to the original key for satisfaction reasons. Story is about following the gut reaction when uncertainty comes into life. Comments always welcome and enjoy!

Second week with the m8 headless - hadn’t tried a tracker before now.  Felt like I had a bit more of a handle on the workflow.  At least it sounds like a coherent structure.  Struggling with the synth programming side of things.  Want to invest some time this week finding some decent presets I can use.
